Last time scalping was this rampant, Pokemon skyrocketed production in time for Battle Styles. Then came Chilling Reign and Evolving Skies and those sets sat at $100 a box after a short bump up. I wonder if it will be similar this time with Journey Together being Chilling Reign and Team Rocket being Evolving Skies.

I dont know if I agree with the narrative that these products are not getting into the hands of people who actually enjoy pokemon.. I think people are underestimating the amount of new collectors entering this hobby and the amount of money they have to spend on it.. I am a collector and I got my hands on several ETBs and other auxiliary products all at MSRP.. I cant be the only one in this situation.

Prismatic will go up in price when all the graded cards come to market. People will see the huge price increase for cards and that will make the packs worth the high risk.

Journey together is going to be 10x better than we are all giving it credit for. I’m a lil upset with myself on missing all the pre orders but prismatic is my main topic for spending this year.

Loving your videos man! Only thing I disagree with is your Journey together is not that good take. Look at a set like Cosmic Eclipse. Similar concept and with AR cards popping off in other sets now, I can see it doing well long term. Maybe not at first because it may get overshadowed by Team Rocket and Prismatic but we’ll see!

151 is far from being out of print. As long as Costco and other big box stores keep asking for truck loads of Blooming Water, Pokemon will give it to them.

Some of these sleeved packs are looking inticing. Ive seen silver tempest and twilight for 3.50, and my local grocery store has lost origin for 4.99. The gap between sleeved and booster box is kind of wide on alot of these.

151 is not reaching 3 years old. Its at 1 year and 4 months. We have 8 more months it can be considered "in print"

I loaded my 4 box Pokemon Center ETB limit of Shrouded Fable. No reason to buy regulars at $45 when you can get the limited at $60.

I have to say I'm a little confused about why CZ is taking off in such an extreme way, the set itself is only two years old, it was insanely heavily printed, and the pull rates were very high so... what's causing this? It just feels artificial, this is not typically how any set evolves in price, even evolving skies didn't climb this rapidly. I'd be worried about a huge price drop off, there's simply too much stock out there for it not to happen this is way too soon for a set to pop off like this.

How did you manage to buy all these below market value?? I bought a Crown Zenith ETB for $110 last week and I had to pay a premium for that because it was the last piece at the store.

I don't think prismatic is going to be remembered as a nostalgic set but more of that one that got away for most. So in the future it's going to do numbers because of the curiosity factor and also for those too young to buy it themselves now. I still remember being a kid at savon begging my mom to buy me some base set packs and maybe like twice did she. she could never really afford them, but I didn't know that then... that's why for as much as I want to profit in the future I know im going to be giving a lot of it away to youngins.

I like that the set about Eevee is teaching our youth about gambling and EV. This set is less of a tcg and more of a lottery ticket system. Be honest, how many people love the Terra Eevee art? This market behavior is just gambling on tulips.

What’s the best way to know when things come in stock? Particularly the PC ETBs?

Ive opened about 60 packs I'd say, got it all at MSRP on preorders, and this is just simply not a fun set to open. Unless you literally hit the lottery and hit a God or demi God pack (which 98% of people will never hit), I mean I wouldn't even open this set at MSRP again, I would much rather rip a set like paldea evolved, temporal forces, 151, the list goes on and on.

Be careful with selling off those prismatic etb’s ppl will tell you you’re a “scalper”. lol jk

“Eeveelution fatigue” incoming

With the prismatic price point dropping, I think it’s a cultivation of a lot of factors. 1. Pull rates are horrible. God packs skew the actual pull rates. Nobody wants to spend $125 on bulk. 2. Singles prices are dropping. It’s not worth the gamble if singles prices are dropping. 3. Pokémon announced reprint. 4. Most importantly I think the community has been fed up with scalpers and refusing to pay prices. As you mentioned, many people in FB groups just laugh at prismatic posts. It’s just beyond frustrating and people are done with the behavior. They are not going to keep contributing to the madness. I still have hope that this set will turn around in the future and be accessible. We will be getting products all year long. I hope it is as accessible as crown zenith was.

It’s definitely something akin to blooming waters rn. It’s not kids or parents or young adults wanting something from their child hood, it’s investors gate keeping the product to flip money

Yeah prismatic was my last straw. The pull rates in this era are to low its no longer fun. I spent 4k on sealed to crack over these last 4 months i got jackshiz nothing good at all. Im done with buying packs to open. Time to grow up maybe.

I don't know what you mean by MSRP when that literally don't exist anymore. Unless USA and Canada completely different Markets. MJ holding also not putting anymore Pokemon cards at any of our Walmart's either.

It seems like you were not around for evolving skies. It was called evolving cries for a reason. The only thing that matters is how good the hits are in a set.

This guy nailed it, longterm high prices require nostalgia etc., which the avg person will never have for this set. Pokemon is turning into the gray watch market. High prices are being artificially inflated due to dealers just selling between themselves, and not the end consumer.

This set is brand new. I wouldn’t make any assumptions for long term performance based on what’s happened in the first few days of an insanely hyped set in an insanely hyped market. As stated in previous comments, evolving skies doesn’t have good pull rates and it’s king of modern. Don’t hyper analyze the present. Long term this set will kill.
