Hey, just wondering, do you use any kind of external mic for these video's or just your phone? For some reason I found it harder to hear you when you were talking. Migh be worth looking at a mic. You can get them that plug into phones and you don't need to spend a fortune. Maybe a bluetooth one that clips to your shirt. Just a though. P.s. i got released from hospital yesterday. Thank you for helping me through it with these video's, they really have been a great help.x

Beautiful voice!

I personally like it when you change around vocal melodies and phrasings in your covers, as I'm really not a fan of people doing a carbon copy of the original song. You might as well listen to the original at that point. That said, I can understand why people watching live might just want something that they can sing along to. I guess it depends on whether the performance is marketed as a kind of nostalgic blast from the past one, or one where you're performing more of your own songs, in which case you could do more unique interpretations of covers.

When giving any presentation to the public for music, business, etc, I think it is imperative that you not use any kind of setup, technical or otherwise, that you have not tried previously and that works well. You should try to have everything planned so that you only have to think about your main reason for being there during your performance. Any break in continuity affects you, potentially in a negative way; but it also affects the audience. The good thing is that you are learning. Experience is only gotten one way. Best of luck!

Great video Irenie. You know what they say, every day is a school day. No gig you do will ever be perfect but as long as you do what you say and practiice as much as you can, that'll shine through. Whilst i agree to maybe do known songs as they are at gigs, i think youtube is a great place to do your own versions of songs. I for 1, enjoy them 😊. Also, do you have a friend (maybe Matt?) who can come with you to take care of things like late comers or people who haven't yet paid? A lot of venues will help if they can but it's upto you, as you've learned. Keep going and you'll find these things iron themselves out 😊x p.s love the thumbnail of this video.x
