Since HLG is not mainly intented for Rec 709, think the resulting gamma in low light is a bit weaker & lavish. But details are high. Seems comparing with Cine D exposure, the GH5 wants you to expose + 2 diaphs with HLG. V log L looks the best balanced with your results. Thx for the heavy job VBB.

Great video! Do you perhaps know if the Film Unlimited powergrade will be compatible with the footage I shoot on a Panasonic G85?

Ahh I see what you mean by the look of the 8 bit at night in V-LOG. I noticed you really had to push the ISO too. I was hoping it was only 1250-1600 ISO but dang 6400 is really high. I also see the magenta cast of skin tones. I read that Cine-D is solid at night but less dynamic range and skin tones can begin to look "unhealthy". The V-LOG to S5 LUT is pretty good at matching. In your other video did you denoise it with just your choice of editing software or was it NeatVideo? Thanks for this! Good luck on your future videos.

I'm heading to Japan and I have read that V-LOG is not that great in low light but this is pretty clean. Also, I was told that 4k60 (8bit) is really gross for V-LOG. Any truth to this? I'm going to assume its true since you shot the 60fps slow mo in cine-d (which is what I also read was recommended).

Hey, if we work in a DaVinci Color Managed workflow its enough to set the timeline color space to DaVinci Wide Gammut to use Cullen'S LUTs?

I think they are both excellent. My personal preference is Cullen's, however everything like this is subjective.

Cullen’s Voyager LUTs are the only ones I ever bought and use. Like the 2383 they are very reliable and don’t break anything and leave enough room for look and correction.

0:29 it seems Jake's LUT is breaking in the cyan of the sky, whereas Cullen's is more conservative - I'd go with Cullen's just because I know it was stresstested beforehands and because he is a color scientist too :) But I really enjoy both content on YT.

Great video. I noticed a slight hue shift between them in the blues too. I sub to both Cullen and Jake on YT and have learnt a lot from them. Thanks for putting this together. Very interesting.

Which would you recommend for realestate use with a gimbal? Unfortunately I have a g95 and the 4k crop is pretty significant I’m leaning more towards the laowa due to the price and how much wider it looks I’d be worried if I got the Panasonic that the 4k crop would kinda mess up the wildness of the lens.
