    I love your Brunswick! I just bought a 1930 RCA REA68 with a record changer. What kind of needles do you use in the Brunswick? Asking someone who doesn't use a phono with a changer the answer is always new single play needles which seems counter intuitive for playing multiple records. Thanks!

    • @EnerG15
      @EnerG15 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The REA68 is a gorgeous and rare machine! I love the push button electric volume control, way ahead of its time. The only needles that should be used with early changers are cactus/fiber needles or Victor Tungstone needles. Tungstones are my favorite but they have not been made since the 30s and get more and more expensive as collectors buy them up. Im currently working on a way to manufacture new Tungstones but I have a long way to go.

    • @victrola1906
      @victrola1906 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@EnerG15 Thanks for the reply! Yes, I'm thrilled to be able to find such a rare machine and at a good price. I've always been fascinated by the early record changers and the amazing engineering that created them. The RAE68 is the second electric phonograph in my collection, which includes the last Edison ever made, the late 1929 C-4. I've been picking up Tungstone needle packs on eBay but they are few and far between. I hope you are able to figure out how to reproduce those. I'm sure you would have a ready market!

  • @kfl611
    @kfl611 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    You can purchase new 78 rpm needles that are sapphire tipped and last 400 plays per needle, instead of the metal needles that are recommended to be replaced after each play.
