    JF Caron looked unreal here, never seen 3 reps of 900+ move that fast in my life. Kearney was insane too for his size. The level of competition in strongman is getting ridiculous.

      I was there with all the available distractions of commentators and watching all the other guys warm up in the back room (i was high enough in the bleachers to see), and this even was still pretty painful. I absolutely love having a max squat event, although I still think a deadlift variation is better, but this could be totally solved by just having TWO implements set up, and change the height and pads on the one not being used while someone lifts in the other one, it could be done in half the time and still give the benefit of heigh differences

    • @highviewbarbell
      @highviewbarbell 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@quadslikescott3816 I agree, it's tough though I see now why there's never really squat in Strongman. I'd slightly rather see a hummer tire deadlift or something, I like the niche Strongman has where the "big 3" lifts are arguably deadlift, log press and atlas stones or else we kind of just become powerlifting, but a squat is nice when it's there. Maybe if in the future though it was a heavy ass weight on a weird implement for reps it could be more in line with the ideal of the sport and also be 5* faster
