Welcome to the channel. I am a hobbyist photographer who decided to record my outings for my friends & family to enjoy looking back on my travels. The videos & my style are the simplest of simples as you accompany me for the day seeing the scenic locations I visit & offer my personal views on hot topics on social media with just an honest appraisal as I see it in today’s society, something not to be confused with criticism. Thanks for stopping by & hope you enjoy a video or two, thank you.
LLANBERIS A DIFFERENT VIEWPOINT
A day out to Llanberis where we look at some disused rail carriages from the miniature railway which runs along the side of Llyn Padarn. From here we went up to the Hospital museum & walked down the path which overlooks the closed Vivian quarry before moving on to the waterfall Ceunant Mawr to see how it withstood the storm. Hope you enjoy the video & can join us on the next outing.

AUTUMNAL VIBES AT DOROTHEA QUARRY.
มุมมอง 455หลายเดือนก่อน
Definitely the best time of year to visit Dorothea quarry is Autumn with some stunning colours surrounding the quarry pools. Having visited many times to explore the tucked away ruins within the woodland areas, although still very nice, the added changing colours that autumn gives, just lifts the place to another level. Hope you enjoy this outing 👍, and look forward to our next journey, thank you.
MAWDDACH ESTUARY & BARMOUTH
มุมมอง 2812 หลายเดือนก่อน
A great day out starting at Penmaenpool toll bridge before heading up to a surprise viewpoint overlooking the estuary & Barmouth bridge. From here we visited a quiet beach the locals know about which gets you close to the base of the bridge for some photos, before heading back home. On route, we stopped off at a derelict hotel tucked away behind trees, perched on a hillside just above the main ...
A FIRST TIME VISIT TO THIS WATERFALL
มุมมอง 4632 หลายเดือนก่อน
After the recent rain, we decided to go to visit some waterfalls. Having arranged a meet up with Ellis & Luke, myself & Richard arrived at our meet up point not far from Blaenau Ffestiniog to revisit one we had all seen before. To our surprise, this was the least flow of water we had ever seen in comparison to previous visits & this usually presents better photos than when in full flow. The onl...
THE STEAM ENGINE AT PENMAENMAWR QUARRY

A difficult place to reach without having to negotiate a steep incline either way, but it was a fun outing ...or three, trying to succeed, battling the weather conditions. Although it's not much to look at, it is a piece of history with just a few intact remaining in the country. The location made for a few fantastic days out with stunning views across the coast as we walked amongst the vibrant...
CWM BYCHAN TO LLYN DINAS

Situated at Pont Aberglaslyn near Beddgelert, we headed up the steepish path Cwn Bychan to take a closer look at the remains of some copper mining pylons used in the day. Although you can carry on the walk over to Llyn Dinas, we decided to walk back to the car & drive as it was such a warm day & thus halved the distance due to the heat. We finished off at the lakeside on a thoroughly enjoyable ...
THE TWIN WATERFALLS AT ABERGWYNGREGYN
มุมมอง 3975 หลายเดือนก่อน
This video was made over two days, as the first day didn't go as planned. The first attempt was to try to get to the top part of the Aber falls main attraction which leads on to the Caernedd range, but we encountered heavy rain just as we reached the slippery section, so common sense prevailed. Day two proved a dryer day with less wind, so we thought we would go & take a closer look at the less...
THE CRUSHER AT TREFOR QUARRY

As your driving down the road on the Llyn Peninsula, you will notice perched up the mountain the crusher building at Trefor quarry. In this video we walk up to take a closer look at this massive structure, taking in the spectacular views looking across the coastline. The granite quarry used to produce curling stones amongst other things and you will see some evidence of this still remains dotte...
PARYS MOUNTAIN A GEOLOGISTS PARADISE
มุมมอง 2426 หลายเดือนก่อน
The natural colours is a sight to see at Parys mountain in Anglesey. Reds, oranges & yellows contrast nicely with the darker rocks of this copper mine and regardless of the weather, you can't help but be impressed.Take a closer look as the drone reaches where we can't in the lower sections, plus the usual aerial views of the overall surrounding landscape.
ANGLESEY COASTAL PATH & PORTHWEN
มุมมอง 3117 หลายเดือนก่อน
A visit to Anglesey where we explore the site of the old brickworks. Situated just off the coastal path is the privately owned Porthwen brickworks, which the landowner currently lets people visit, whilst keeping a close eye on any wrongdoing, littering & vandalism etc. Whether this would continue, I suppose is up to ourselves to be responsible whilst visiting. It's a fascinating place on a beau...
GREENFIELD HERITAGE PARK---DRONE GOES WHERE WE CAN"T.
มุมมอง 9997 หลายเดือนก่อน
A return to the historical site at Greenfield where we send the drones to explore a part of the park which is cordoned off to the public due to safety reasons. A very interesting view as the drone reveals some images which you now would never see with the fenced off restrictions.
DULAS BOAT WRECKS & PUTTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT

Something about boat wrecks that send the imagination going. Dulas Bay, Anglesey, has a couple to explore & we took a closer look including drone views of the surrounding areas. From here, we moved to Capel Lligwy overlooking the beautiful coastline. KLONDYKE MILL

Starting off with a visit to two waterfalls, we then headed for our main destination, Klondyke Mill. Situated in a valley, Klondyke is found next to a series of cascades close to woodland, & so giving plenty to offer in terms of photography. The drone shows the landscape surrounding the mill, which you could imagine to be spectacular during Autumn. Hope you enjoy the video, thank you.

Great video Mark and a reminder of the sights to be seen around Llanberis. I enjoy the walk to the hospital as it tends to be quieter than the main quarry these days

Hi Mark, if you & Rich had not shown the opening to Maenofferen to Steve & I earlier in the year, we'd have gone up here. Then again, as we went underground that day, we're looking at going back here early in 2025. I hope you're well?

Love the slate quarry videos. The ones around Bethesda were my playground during the early 60's, where I spent my 6 week summer school holidays every year. These fascinated me and I was spoilt for choice as I roamed the area between Aber falls and Nant Francon Pass, where small trial digs were abundant. Penrhyn had steam locos and slate splitting in progress, (I had a go), but my daily quarry was right on my doorstep. Out the front door and down Bryn Teg street was Pantdreiniog Quarry, a deep pit with water at the bottom and a massive spoil tip overlooking the town. My Aunt forbade me from going anywhere near it, but I went there every day and eventually raised the courage to get to the bottom. Only once. The spoil tip had a view over the town that felt like flying. Keep the vids coming..
@@RoryTrackrod thank you very much. A great story of your childhood & playground, can imagine how fantastic that would be.👌👍

I seem to recall my geology professor saying that Penmaenmawr granite was not a true granite being am igneous diorite.

Great video, love the drone footage ! 😁. You've shown me the bits I didn't or couldn't see. I went in September. First visit, gorgeous weather, I had a real blast 😁😁. Good schooch about for several hours, took lots of pics, very few people around. On the subject of drones I was out walking somewhere else and a drone appeared in front and just above me and followed me for a couple of minutes. If it had been within reach I might have been tempted to have knocked it out of the sky !! 😡.
@@tazminmoore455 thank you very much. Yes, these are the sort of idiots that give respectful drone operators a bad name for sure. We have been a few times now, but autumn is always the best we feel. Thanks again🙏👍😊
The buildings are locked up because there are either Bats or Birds in there. I viewed a vireos on it a while back, just can't remember if it was Bats or Birds. Gone past this quarry many times over 50 years and always had a good look up. Is the clock still there?
@@m3zov thank you for confirming what we eventually thought. Yes the clock is still on the hillside & mostly working again now. 👍😊
Great work Mark. Will take a trip here when I stop off near Barmouth on my Pembrokeshire and Brecon Beacon trip next year.
@@HOWARD-TV thank Lee, well worth a stop off.👌👍
Lovely location as always Mark. I am planning a trip up to Wales, hopefully this year, some waterfall photography is needed. As always great little chat, Personally I do go for the long exposure more often than not, however like you said a time and a place for it. I shoot long exposure and then get one with a faster shutter speed too. Because until I get home I never know what I will like, so cover all bases lol. As for right and wrong, its Photographys best feature and biggest mystery, When photography became a thing, everyone was saying sharp images are the right thing and then came along ICM lol, If there is another way of photographing something, someone will like it and someone will hate it.
@@keithguppy cheers Keith👍. Give us a shout when you do come over so we can try & get together 👍

How wonderful 😍, and you had the waterfall to yourselves, too! I have a small confession to make .... It was me who ate all the mushrooms 😁😁😂😂, just love mushrooms, couldn't resist them !! " Its crap " 🤔🤔. That's a very interesting, intelligent comment. I wonder how they arrived at that conclusion. Clearly we're in the presence of an intellect and wit that far surpasses our own. What they don't seem to comprehend is that in a few weeks they will be forgotten about and no one will remember them or what they said. Whereas you and Richard will not be forgotten! And that ( as Forrest Gump would say ) is all I have to say about that.
@@tazminmoore455 Thank you very much 🙏😊👍. Haha, let’s hope they weren’t magic mushrooms lol 😂. Yes, they are a certain breed these cowardly individuals who try to get to people. Sad thing is, a fair percentage of people they target actually take it to heart & in so doing play into the hands of these pp. 🤣.
