Mahoraga was made WAY WAAAAAAAY stronger in the Anime than in the Manga. It's my biggest issue with the fight because Mahoraga's strength in the Manga was portrayed that way in Shibuya for a reason. iirc, each turn of the wheel represents an Adaptation. If the Adaptation works, then that's it, it worked. The end. If it doesn't work, it tries to find another Adaptation, and when it does, the wheel turns again. If it works, it works. If not try again. Repeat until it works or dies. A full 360 turn of the wheel results in a complete/perfect adaptation that will work (I think, not sure).

Ah yes, the classic hiding manga spoilers as "did you know"s. This was even already hinted to in the anime (Ubuyashiki calling Muzan "the sole blemish on my family" after Daki and Gyutaro were killed), and the anime just got to the point of the full explanation in the manga last week.
