No boundaries - Palau 2023
Fishing in Palau is an experience that is truly unparalleled. The crystal-clear waters and perfect weather create the ideal setting for an unforgettable fishing trip. As soon as you cast your line, you can feel the excitement in the air, knowing that the fish are ready to put up a fight.
Over the course of five days, I had the opportunity to test my skills and push myself to new limits. Each day brought a new challenge and a chance to surpass my personal best. The thrill of reeling in a big catch and the satisfaction of unlocking new species was incomparable.
The highlights of the trip were numerous and unforgettable. From the adrenaline rush of battling a Giant Trevally to the joy of landing a red grouper, every moment was filled with excitement and awe. The vibrant colours and sheer size of the fish were a sight to behold.
As I reflect on this incredible adventure, I can't help but look forward to returning to the waters of Palau. Armed with newfound knowledge and experience, I am eager to take on even bigger and more elusive fish. The anticipation of what awaits me in the sea is enough to fuel my passion for fishing.
Until the next adventure, I bid farewell to Palau with a sense of gratitude and a promise to return. Take care and tight lines.

A moment that inspires the soul. Fishing is much more than casting a hook into the water. It about… Being discipline to keep going with it gets tough… Having the will to be persistent, endure the pain… And never giving up when all else fails… Do that and you will be rewarded. Weather got better, and it's time for a road trip to Rompin in Mar. The conditions was tough, with unpredictable current flows and wind conditions. But, what that said, we still pulled through and played along with the conditions and landed some decent catches. I would have loved to do more slow pitch jigging, but mother nature didn’t agree, so fast jigging and casting of pintails was the play....

    Loving your videos Jason. keep up the good work. I want to ask your thoughts on the S66 Skippin Frog and the S68 Dragger. I have the Skippin Frog which is my "go to" rod for most, but I'm interested in the Dragger, but none in stock in Australia. How do these 2 rods compare in their rod action? Is one faster or more parabolic? Heavier tip on the dragger but same backbone? Thank you in advance.

    • @JasonReelFishing
      @JasonReelFishing ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Colin, thank you for the word of encouragement. Been busy lately with my day job, hence content is kind of slow at the moment, but more is coming soon. In my opinion, both the Skippin Frog and Dragger are rather similar but very different at the same time. Firstly, Skipping Frog is rated ML rod whereas Dragger is a M rated rod. The one thing that I found out about Zenaq rods, is that each model is build for specific applications, with an optimal line poundage, lure weight to use, making the overall feel of using the rod great and fun! The Backbone for both rods are similar but made to take the test of strength, which is very strong. In my opinion, I feel that Zenaq rods are underrated and the Skippin Frog feels like a medium, and the Dragger is more like a medium heavy rod. Skipping frog tends to have a softer tip, which makes casting light lures (up to 10g) easy. And because of that, I tend to use it for micro jigging as well in Singapore. On the other hand, Dragger is a much heavier rod (based on its rating) with a stiffer tip. So casting heavier lures beyond stated specs is possible. In the video, I was casting a 34g jig (Although on spec is up to 14g). Because of the stiffer tip, it makes casting heavier lures easy with a nice load on the rod that gives you great distance. However, I find that due to the stiffer tip, using the Dragger for jigging is not as nice as the skippin frog. Hope this helps! And thank you again for supporting my channel.

    • @EKB20
      @EKB20 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JasonReelFishing Hi Jason, thank you for your quick reply. Watching your video has inspired me to finally purchase some zenaq rods and the Skippin Frog was my first purchase, and I use that rod for soft lures here in Australia for Snapper, Grass Emperor, occasionally Longtail Tuna as bycatch (never landed as Shark took it and snapped my line at boat side). Whilst I feel the Skippin Frog is very powerful, as a tackle junkie, you always pursue for more hence asking about the dragger. I think you’ve answered my question, and might just get another Skippin frog or B65 Finesse instead. I have also the First Pilot and B67 Frog as my other Zenaq rods for Barramundi and Mangrove Jacks Thank you again and keep up the good work!!
