Greenworks Oiler ISSUE | Clean OUT
In this video, I walk you through how to clean out saw chips from around the crankshaft and chain of a GreenWorks 18-inch electric chainsaw. Regular maintenance is key to keeping your equipment performing at its best, and I’ll show you how to ensure your chainsaw’s oiling system stays functional during heavy use.
At McQuillin Tree Care, we rely on our tools to get the job done right, and I’ve had my share of experience with GreenWorks Pro products. While I encountered some issues with the oiling system on the Pro pole saw, GreenWorks’ customer service was top-notch in resolving the issue, and their 18-inch ground saw has proven reliable. That said, cleaning out sawdust build-up is crucial for ensuring proper lubrication, especially for those of us in the tree care business.
I’m looking forward to testing GreenWorks' commercial-grade pole saw for our more demanding jobs. If you’re in the market for electric tools for professional use, this video will give you insights into how to maintain them and why GreenWorks continues to be a solid option for our team.

My wife came home with one of these. I said wtf. After a year i tried it and was very impressed with it for average use. She also bought the trimmer and i don't even use the gas one trimmer along fence line around the pastures.
These battery powered tools have come a long ways and I've got to say I'm growing very fond of them. Enjoy the pasture and your time in the great outdoors, stay safe!
Safety glasses?
I mean most likely would be smart, I can't argue against that. I was just so excited to use the new chain, sorry I forgot safety first
How long does a charged battery last?
Well I have a standard run 2 1/2 ohm battery, a standard run 4 ohm battery, and two extended run for ohm batteries. And I guess it's always different depending on the wood that you are cutting but today for instance we worked 8 hours and rotated the batteries a total of six times and dropped probably 13 trees and cut them up for the chipper
I really haven't timed them and every cutting scenario is different since we are running a professional operation or usually cutting multiple different trees a day sometimes hardwood sometimes soft wood
@@McQuillinTreeCare It sounds like it would be perfect for me out on my acreage
Great job
Thank you!
And
The drone died during the final cut laying the whole tree down, so since I missed the most critical moment I only published this one clip.
was there any potential danger working close to those power lines in terms of being up in the tree and the limbs being in contact with the lines?
So the Lines that those limbs were in contact with were telecommunication lines. Technically all lines have a potential of being energized, best practice to avoid contact however in this case scenario we are not restricted. OSHA Standards for Telecommunication Lines:Low Voltage (under 50 volts): There is generally no minimum approach distance specified for voltages under 50 volts, but caution should always be exercised.
Great question
General Recommendations10-Foot Rule: A common safe practice is to maintain a minimum approach distance of 10 feet from any telecommunication or power lines unless specific training and procedures are in place for closer work.Insulated Tools and Equipment: When working closer than the general minimum approach distance, insulated tools and equipment should be used, and only trained and certified personnel should perform the work.
@@StevenMathers thanks for the information. Great work👍
Awesome!!! Love the equipment fix, Justin throwing you up some tools!! At the end you make the logs look extra light throwing them in the truck 🚚 😂
They were actually really heavy we just ate our Wheaties that morning lol... Jk... They were so dead they were light like paper, almost recycled
