So long Charmaine... and thanks for all the sweets
A meander down memory lane as we bid a fond farewell to a positively stupendous Cabin Service Director and a good friend.

On Saturday 17th January 2009, despite intense public and political protest, British Airways closed it's Scottish Cabin Crew Base after forty years of operation. This film is a celebration of the people and personalities who remained professional and loyal to the company to the very end. Note: The final moments of the film show the historic arrival of the last ever Glasgow Shuttle from London H...
Lots of good memories here.. TY
I miss the BA 757 :(
Such a shame that base closed. What a lovely video!!
WOW All the cabin crew look so nice.. as usually in BA :)
The training for Cabin Crew varies from airline to airline. Some have intensive safety/customer service instruction, others simply tell you what you need to know to alloy you to meet government safety requirements. My advice would be to contact the airlines direct. They all tend to have recruitment pages with up to the minute advice and notice about vacancies. Good luck!
What a Touching Video always a pleasure to fly with these guys BA should never have been aloud to Close these regional fleets its there loss in the long run.
sad!
Charmaine was a star... certainly used to brighten up a bad day on the ground!
my mum was involved in all that, she quit and left
whats the song to this vid thanks
Aberdeen never got a flippin video and they pulled plug on us in 1995!! Mind you, we didn't so much go out with a bang as with a wheeze (like that sound you get if you step on a set of bagpipes) Recognise a few faces. Those were the days
Grazie.
BA The Best Airline Of the World ;D Kiss from Italy ;D
What a great video - very moving. Such a shame that BA shut the regional bases. You were all a credit to your respective bases. Well done & good luck.
what a lovely video very nicely made so sad that BA decided to close its Glasgow base, Scottish hospitality really is the best in the world...
<3
What a lovely Video,I was welling up by the end. So many Lovely smiles. I flew once from GLA south and Ba do it thier way, they do put the lowcos in the shade.
such a shamwe the glasgow crews had to go!!!! miss them all!!!!!
Never saw this before but used to fly down to London with BA from Glasgow alot, you couldn't get nicer people. I wish you all the very best for your future, it's a shame to see such talented, professional and loyal people lose their jobs.
@wonderfulsomeone OMG this is the best cabin crew video i have ever seen here on youtube and trust me i have seen quiet alot............am so in love with BA now i really want to fly them now ,those crew were the sweetest hope they got flying again.

@theboy247 Thank You!
Great video with a perfect soundtrack. Thank you to all the BA crew who brought me home safe and sound 6 times each year, it was always great to hear "Welcome to Glasgow". "Cheerio" but wishing you all the best
That's so sad, I burst into tears while watching it...
i have flown many times with these people, and i have to say as a British Airways staff, i have never ever come accross a more friendlier and fun loving cabin crew who work damn hard to make sure we have a good time, even just a short flight, it makes the little bit of difference, well done to you all, i hope you fly out of heathrow now, would love to meet you all agin, i am sure you wont forget me....well ..we will see....xxxxx merv
@ba2775 2 words Willie Walsh :(
Leon Jackson
Sadly, yes.
Who's singing that song?
Thank you!
British Airways ha! what a joke, might aswell re-name it London Airways, good vid mate, shame they closed the base.
Simplification, which basically involves pulling all resourses back to London. "British" Airways mainline no longer employs any uniformed staff north of Hounslow. Sad.
What a blast … so many familiar faces. It’s not until you see this that you realise how many you remember. Some wonderfully nice crew get recognition here and rightly so. They made the trail from Glasgow to London and back much more bearable. Good luck to all of them!
Thank you Stewik. Sorry to hear your Warsaw Base is closing. Wishing you luck and success.
I don't mind in the slightest Ian. Go right ahead.
Another great video colin :)
A touching story indeed. Glad you found the video inspiring. Hope things have improved for you and you are back, fighting fit.
@wonderfulsomeone I was Cabin Crew with another airline based at NCL, i had to leave the profession due to injury after an accident. I was gutted, my whole life came to an end. This vid brings back so, so many good memorys and even brought a tear to my eyes. Thanks, made me feel human again. xxxxx
Wonderful video, lovely celebration of the great staff that were at Glasgow base. Music works perfectly, makes you feel quite emotional. Such a sad waste BA closed this base. Very Sad.
this video is just totally amazing! looked so fun yet sad 5*
Hey @WonderfulSomeone - Thanks for the story. Wow - IT Really Touches My Heart... I am moved by the BA Crews' Sincerity. Wish Them All Best. Love. - From me
