This area is also called Sisters Rocks State Park. Historically this was a place for boats and ships to come into shore because it shelters depending on the weather. It is also the place where the marijuana fiasco that occurred in the late 70s. A boat laden with pot wrecked and all the pot washed up on the local beaches.

OREGON WAVES AND WOOD JAN 2025

This is Meyers Creek Oregon. Plenty of driftwood this year because of the king tides, large storm waves and plenty of rain to push debris out of Pistol River. January can have some of the best days to be on the southern Oregon coast.

Amazing. Wow. Those rocks looks like they're far from shore.
A grand view indeed! Loved it! Thanks for the video!
I am glad you liked it.
Oh wow! Is this gorgeous or what! The beauty of those birds flying over the ocean with sun shining and blue skies make a beautiful scene. I am a native Oregonian and have lived here all my life. I have been from top to bottom on the coasts both on the eastern side and western. Oregon has the most beautiful coastline than any other state by far. You do a great job proving this! Thank you for your videos.
I love flying out there because it is so raw and powerful. When the tide is low, the sea lions and birds with sit on the rocks. I just happened to be flying the low tide. What you don't see is the flight out and back. Depending on the wind, that can bring my battery level down quickly.
You did it again! I found myself crouching down as you went through the Arch. There's nothing like being on the Oregon coast on a bright sunny day with blue skies. Absolutely beautiful!
Flying gaps is a great FPV experience. Flying over the ocean with waves makes it even more so.
Another awesome flight and spot!!! What are you flying? Brave going through that opening 😮
Thanks! I am loving the Avata 2 and have put all my other on the shelf. It is the can do everything drone that is really compact and portable. By the way, I have subscribed to your channel for some time now. I have enjoyed it.
Absolutely great flight and scenery! Thanks for sharing. I'll be driving both the Oregon and Washington coasts this summer, I can't wait!
That sounds great. You have to stop at Meyers Creek and take it all in. There are several turnouts to take advantage of that all have beach access.
@ thanks for the pointers! Summer can’t get here fast enough!
Beautiful as usual. That was so cool going through the Arch. You did a fantastic job! I have never been to Arch Rock but I hope I can go soon.
Thanks so much for your encouragement. Yes, going through the arch was nerve-wracking because I knew I was going to lose signal. If you can do it once then you can do it again. I will post another video where I take a second shot going through the arch.
There's a mansion literally being built feet from the beach at Falcon Cove, Oregon. Houses along the same beach have been vacated because their foundations are hanging out over eroded cliffs and this lugnut is settling in the blast zone. smh
Exactly too many Lugnuts and Way too relaxed building codes.
Nice job Dirk! From Gold Beach 😊
Thanks so much for coming by and viewing.
So pretty with the blue sky. I wish I could smell it right now, I love the scent of the ocean. You do great work, it's like I'm right there.
Port Orford non native been here 1 year. No job market. Gray skies constantly. Rain constantly. Never gets warm. More rain. Then..... Yup, 70 mph winds come and snatch off your roof that Lowes just installed.
@@MurrayNoneya-yb3il All I can say is Welcome to the Oregon coast.
I love the ocean but no way would I live this close to it.
Thanks so much for viewing my video. I appreciate you coming by.
That was a close one for sure!
The ocean can be a very dangerous place to be at times as your video shows. I love the ocean but respect it and I will just enjoy your videos at times like these.
Beautiful! I love your videos!
Thank you for these beautiful videos of the ocean. Being an Oregonian native and growing up going to the beach often, I never tire of seeing the beauty of the ocean.
Thanks, it is a beautiful place to live and film.
For whatever reason, mountains do not scare me but the ocean I find terrifying...
I know what you mean. I am always nervous about a water crash.
Grew up living 7 miles from the beach in Southern California last 1970s. Had a few close calls when I was younger about 12 years old big wave crashed down on me riding a tube knocked the wind out of me hit the bottom lucky a friend pulled me up. I was about 1/2 second from passing out. Had some other close calls. I can remember how the salt water tasted get a big gulp of it down your lung and throat.
@@Mike-01234 Glad you had a buddy who was there for you...
This is Sebastian Shores, Gold Beach, isn't it? I helped build it almost 25 years ago. Amazing to see the Erosion of the beach 🏖...
Yes, Bill, it's Sebastian Shores. Did you do the rip rap?
No, it was red mud fill for the Sites, and the beach was 200' West, over an 8 ft Foredune. A Sneaker Wave pushed logs up to the Fill during the Construction phase, but the Developer wasn't concerned. The RIP Rap was done later, due to Hunter Creek eroding the beach.
This is wonderful. Do you live anywhere nearby?
I live in Gold Beach Oregon USA and you? Thanks for the kind comment, it is much appreciated.
@ - Very nice place where you live. I am from Lithuania 🇱🇹 Vilnius.
Nice job!!!!
👌
Being an Oregon Native,im looking forward to you sharing your adventures,at one of the most beautiful places on Earth, the Oregon Coast. ❤️🏄
Thank you so much for coming by. I agree with you on Oregon Coast.
The sea is always spectacular. A very brave flight. Amazing big waves.
Hey, thanks for coming by. It is always a little tense flying over salt water. I will be getting more as the storms come in.
Is this normal elk behavior?
Hey! Nice.
Wow... nice fly through.
Thanks, I am glad you liked it
❤
❤ Thank you so very much.
Kinda ok, I guess. What happen to the back cut and lifting of the tree? Would've been a great vid..... but still wasn't bad, per say
I understand what you are saying. I wanted to get the drone in the air so I could get the tree falling. I had to miss him jack the tree over. I appreciate your comments, it helps me plan for a future shoot.
great footage. fantastic work 👍
Thank you so much for the kind words and encouragement.

Amazing footage you captured there. Looks great with all this fog. Good job 👍🍻
I really appreciate your comments and encouagement. Thanks for coming by.
Nice, I love fog as well
Thanks so much. Yes, sometimes it is all about the fog.
Awesome spot! I'm always nervous flying over large bodies of open water but I can't help myself. Lost 2 drones and 1 gopro that way, RIP.
Thanks so much for coming by. Salt water is all around me so I too have lost several drones and cameras. What I am finding is I am getting corosion from the salt air that even comformacote can't eliminate. As you say, RIP.
Absolutely gorgeous footage! I myself really love flying around fog as well. It always creates a special vibe for me :)
Thanks for the kind comments. Fog is special for sure. I think there are a few of us that are attracted to it. I agree with you on how it creates a special vibe.
fog is best 🤩
Since I live on the coast, fog seems to be apart of the weather pattern here. Therefore I have a love and possible addiction with fog. So I concur with you, fog is best!
Beautiful
A love story for the Rogue. ❤
That should have been the title.
Nice tutorial. I liked the arial shot of the falling. Thanks. DOUGout
Thanks Doug, it was a fun day seeing how it is done.
Healing the soul.
For sure, Thanks for coming by
Beautiful.
What an amazing looking sky for sure. Nice video 😎
Sunrises and sunsets are for sure the best times to video. Thanks for coming by.
cool flight!
Thanks! I appreiate that.
nice flight. Over the clouds. Regards from my channel.
Thanks so much for stopping by. I will check your channel out. Cheers!
Wow, absolutely stunning! What’s the quad and camera used?
I am using a Gopro 10 with nd filter 16. I built a Le Drib skyliner 5 inch which flies so smoothly! Thanks Erik for coming by. Are you still in the smoke. I was out on the Columbia salmon fishing and the air was clear.
@@dirkvanzante smoke has cleared out around me thanks to some rain. There was a little bit of smoke in the air when I flew the Columbia near Vantage on Monday but it wasn’t bad.
Great session. 💪
Thanks so much!
subbed. oh my that green clear water...😮
Flying over water is always just as nerve wracking as flying a few miles out!
You know it used to be that way in the beginning, but after a few drones lost and hours above water it becomes not as nerve wracking as it once was. For me to fly out like you do would have my hands shaking on the first few flights. I am sure these areas become old stomping grounds and the nerves tend to quiet down. I know that once I have flown an area a few times, I get more excited than nervous. In a way it is like scuba diving. At first all you can do is think about getting enough air, then you look around and become engrossed and the breathing becomes automatic. By the way, love seeing your content.
looks great! hope you were successful for more range and more minutes. my way were the GepRC crocodile 5 baby hd with a 3000mA LiIon battery
Thanks for advice. I will look into that. I like the way my quad flies, just need more minutes. Which 3000ma battery did you get?
@@dirkvanzante a 4s from geprc. my record at the moment is around 4.5km out, and around 12km roundtrip. i m not at te absolite limit, still some experiments to do and calibrate the currentmeter on my quad
