Each Persona is based off a mythological/historical rebel. The theme of the game is Rebellion, rebellion against an unjust society, rebelling against oppression and rebelling against a corrupt government.

Basically they can get inside megalomaniacal (or very depressed) people's mind palace. Also the protagonist name is Ren Amamiya (At one point he was called Akira Kurusu)

Since you already know about P3, I do recommend you play P4 1st before P5. While the story aren't directly connected, the progress of the awakening will make more sense. With minimal spoiler, in P3 the summon their persona forcefully by using the evoker in P4 they kinda show what would happen if you let a "persona" out unchecked and in P5 as you can see, all of the personas made a pact agreement 1st before coming out so it won't become a P4 situation Probably a bad explanation, but I'm trying to dance around spoilers Additional note : that scene for Futaba's awakening will make more sense if you play P4

To help with understanding, the spin-off games to Persona 5 are set after the original game. But, Royal is an alternate timeline with additional content compared to the original Persona 5. Lots of subtle additions scattered through Royal, though the biggest is the addition of three characters that significantly alter the story.

Seems the video you did failed to include Morgana's first awakening. And if you do Persona 5 Royal, there's even more.

If you still want a fresh-enough experience, I'd also recommend playing Persona 5 Royal. It adds a lot more story content, as well as an extra semester (after that boss shown at the end here).

For the names of the 3 modern Persona games each have a canon name. Persona 5: Ren Amamiya, but in game he's given a "codename" because of story reasons which is Joker. Persona 4: Yu Narukami Persona 3: Makoto Yuki and the female protag for Portable is Kotone Shiomi. At the launch of the games they do not have a canon name, but through different media they're named, typically the anime for each. Person 5 is quite different from 3, since at least the first 2 "bosses" are heavily based off real life people. Kamoshida, for example, is rumored to be based on the real life "Masato Uchishiba" and the second "Madarama" being "Mamoru Samuragochi", so it feels much darker because of how real it is.

If do play persona 5, go for royal, because it has a lot more content and new final boss

I said to you before Sprinkles that I was really glad you were playing Persona 3 Reload for your first Persona game instead of 5... The answer's surprisingly simple. I don't really like P5 😂 Not entirely it's fault but being a fan of the series from P3 meant having to wait 8 LONG years from P4's release for P5 (There were multiple delays with it supposed to be out 3 years earlier) so my hype levels had gone through the roof and I only came away disappointed. Either way I hope you end up enjoying it at least whenever and IF you get round to playing it... 2027 maybe? 😉

That indeed was the a spoiler for the end game Persona 5 game for base Persona 5 witch is what it looks like here cause there is a updated version of this but that contains royal stuff. We advice you to stay from Persona 5 content if it has end game spoilers in it and you plan to play the game also here fun fact about me though sprink,. Is i started with the OG Persona 3 i started with Persona 3 FES witch has the answer in it or in our case episode aigis you should give that a playthrough after you finish base persona 3 game since the DLC for epiosde aigis ia few month after the base journey it self. These was the base persona 5 plot points though the Reason for Shadow Kamoshida being there a lot over others was cause he is what people say the Tutorial boss to get you all set up with the party even the cat has the Persona you also don't have to call Morgana by that name you can call him Mono for short. But yes if you was wondering that thing Joker summoned at the end was indeed a persona but you can only get that one in new game plus and after you finish the Persona compendium to 100% there is a reason to max out all the compendiums in every game since you get ultimate persona's for New game plus.. But highly recommend from watching stuff for end game stuff cause it spoils the person's involvement with the game... it happaned to me with a different game franchise and i made my self stay offline for the whole month when ever a new game comes out as of now till i hve beaten it. Also what got me into persona in the first wasn't the gameplay or anything it was the characters Social links and many more lol XD but yeah also don't watch these again Persona 5 royal one also has a major spoiler in the game so be careful...

Jocker's, Ryuji's and Ann's awakenings take place in the span of one week, so this is why they still do not finish him off

I'm also confused at to why people wanted you to watch this before playing the game since it's spoilers for each character and important plot points. That said, Persona 5 has a different theme than Persona 3. P3 is more about the fear of death and facing it (thus the guns the characters shoot themselves with) while P5 is more about tearing away the 'socially acceptable' mask that you wear in public to conform to society, to free yourself from all those expectations and be yourself. Persona 4 also has its own way to summon personas but it's not as visually impressive as P3 and P5. Might I suggest listening to music from the series instead? Far less chance than stumbling upon spoilers that way. Either way I'm enjoying your playthrough of P3R and hope you continue having fun.

funny story, this is the game I started with the series 2:38 funny thing is in the original game Junpei dosn't call it tartar sauce, he actually equates the name tartarus with toothpaste P5 main character actually has 2 names depending on what you use, Ren Amamiya or Akira Kurusu 36:04 Haru was awakened already at this point though it was a half awaken as she had her outfit and persona, I don't want to spoil too much in case you want to play it yourself but that is the reason she doesn't have to do that here that final boss is only the last foe in the original, the royal remake adds more characters and a another palace also extra bit of play time

I don't understand why people wanted you to react to this at this moment before actually starting the game. P5's awakenings bear an exceptional weight when you fully understand the context in which they happen, without it it's just a simple spectacle.

Hi sprinkles ✨😄 Oh my you went & spoiled the awakening before playing 😅 I remember when first persona 5 announced release they made trailers of all kinds of gameplay I only watched the first 3 main trailer, then I avoided all trailers till I got the game, every detail of persona games is so much fun I love going spoil less completely blind, persona 5 was most enjoyable game to me, I enjoyed every second with gameplay of 132 hours, played a few play through again to reach 240 hours completing everything there to complete Persona 5 is different from P3 only first area in P5 gives similar vibes to P3 but P5 has different concept & completely different areas later on, every area is completely different, I like persona 5 awakening they show resolve by taking the mask of awakening as it's part of them, to take that part off and control it as to control persona of oneself is not easy task So are u skipping to persona 5, what about P4? I'd have adviced you not to watch spoilers but too late now, my favorite characters from P5, Makoto, Ann, Kawakami & Take & of course Joker I love him The P5 mc is called Joker his official name is Ren Amamiya, most enemies in P5 is really bad, but our friends are all amazing 😄👍

I'd say you can play this one after you play p3 since there's more QoL to the game. Also, the game is still very dark despite the colorful theme song 🤣

Persona 5 realistically is the darkest game, the reason for this is very simple there are fates in life far worse then death, and this game shows some of those very fates. But this game is very enjoyable with a great soundtrack I do hope you’ll play it after 3. And this game is referring to revealing one’s true nature behind the mask that we all wear. So I do hope you’ll consider it Also this was inspired by Edgar Allen poe’s masque of the red death
