Seen this issue before, it’s in ‘battery saver mode’ which isn’t covered in the manual for some weird reason. As you demonstrated in the video, if you press the tune button and then press it again quickly then it tunes fine. The tuner isn’t faulty, it should be in battery saver mode when the internal battery pack is used and normal mode when an external power source is used. For the life of me I can’t remember how to switch between the modes!

I noticed the same problem on one of those 2000 D models,It turned out to be the dc supply on the tcxo boardhad noise/ripple from a bad electrolytic from A4 or A5 dc source power supply boards.

There are many crystals that mix with the master oscillator, as well as many electrolytic caps that dry out or leak on the board and corrode the copper... Good luck! Mine has a digital problem, and I have to buy a ton of chips to try and solve it!

It's not really BLUETOOTH connectivity though, is it? It's just RS-232 over a bluetooth carrier.

Product should not be on the market. The company needs to pull that product, or re-engineer with a bunch of additional filtering. It is not rocket science to check before going to market if a product is radiating obscene levels of electromagnetic interference. If we were tx'ing out of band Ofcom would come down on us like a ton of bricks. Not the other way around. Big corps get away with whatever they want, radiating their junk into frequency ranges where amateurs are the primary users. All a joke to be honest.

Thank for you posting this video. I'm currently trying to figure out why my bypass mode isn't working (manual describes "Press the Tune button momentarily") and yet it does exactly as you demonstrate - no bypass mode. Relieved to learn it *sometimes* works when press another button before pressing tune… but only sometimes. I dunno, brand new unit and this bug!!

Nice video .but this finder is too bad. Especially gtmedia v8 model no v-73 is not good. Fake battery , no any software update and it read very low quality

Truly beautiful display. I love the P7 phosphor. IMO it would be best to keep it as an X/Y scope and just build your own adapter circuits for it. I've been wanting to build a radar scope with one of these tubes and use two out of phase sign waves to rotate the scan. Then to make the scan you could multiply a ramp wave with the X and Y sign waves.

Exactly the same pattern of jumping frequency on my Ascel counter. Answer from Ascel: this situation happens if the input level at channel A is not correctly set with potentiometer...

Great video. Thanks. I've made mine. However I'm probably missing something. While my hc5 transfers data both ways between android hc05 terminal app and rasp pi, it only sets g90 but will not read vfo change on radio. On cable 2ways read and set work. Any idea or similar experience?

I don't see any reason why the HC05 can't be used. It is meant to be a master whilst the HC06 can only be a slave.

Regards the samller sensor, please you kindly return the camera to Amazon for refund. The small sensor belongs to a customized camera from a Asian factory. They used the same camera case of HY-2307. The same problem was happened to our US Amazon customer last month. After I reported your case to our team leader, I was informed this news. Yesterday, we had applied to checked the manufacture record and we found a new staff of our assembly workshop made the mistake. He didn't know there were 2 kinds of different sensor PCBA for this camera (because the pcb size are the same), he mixed them and assemble it in our regular models. Per system record, we mixed at least 50 pcs smaller sensor in a 300 pcs HY-2307. Please accept our sinserely apology for all the troubles cuased!

I am contemplating purchasing this in kit form. Any recommendations?

DId you change baud rate of BT dongle? Did you change any settings in G90? Looks like default baud rate of HC-06 is 9600.
