I have a buddy that has a fully built y8/z6 Frankenstein motor with a 50 trim turbo set at 15 to 20 pounds of boost with almost 500hp killing most b series that I've seen so far

You lose tons of boost when you shift a 5spd..with a auto you dont lose near as much so it makes sense

I beat a couple of y8's and b series auto and manual I'm doing the conversion in 2 weeks but the complete build will be done at the beginning of the new year I will post videos soon

y7 block probably better than y8 block. y8 head is just for the vtec. y7 head probably weak. do a y7 block and y8 head together probably the best thing to do and turbo it. i have a y7 non turbo beat a y8 non turbo couple times

My friend has a boosted automatic y8 and he ran a 12.8 on a 1/4 mile..so I know for a fact that it can be done..

bro i respect that and i have a d series too but its 5 speed and turbo on it. im just saying 5 speeds are better for control and launches. its your ride man im not haten because its what you like and its not my car so if thats what u wanna do then do it. i love hondas and a good D series.

its auto because you dont lose boost or as much boost changing gears but auto launchs blow.. i got an ek coupe with the y7 was thinking about puttin the y8 head and boosting after different internals

d16 will hold whatever boost you give them. too much power blows engines, not the amount of boost. you can have 30 psi boost and make only 150 hp, but you could also have 10psi with the right tune and make 300+ and kill the motor. power kills motors, not boost pressure. -__-

auto is a constant boost, manual isn't. keep that in mind.

@thezone95 it's a nice car with potentials but I seriously recommend building the motor because the stock setup turbo only holds maximum 7 psi on boost and that's pushing it and also if its not vtec keep the block and swap the head to a vtec head preferably a z6 or y8 vtec head I promise u will love it and don't let anyone tell u not to do it because there are a lot of d-series haters out there and one of them is relentlessek9

I traded someone for the kit but I priced the kit online it was a 1500 kit and Hughes automotive in Dothan, Al / Webb, Al installed the kit for me, what do you drive and where are you located

I have a 1996 Civic Lx thinking about a turbo since me and my dad are restoring it for my first car it needs a tranny a altinator and something in the cooling system and mines an auto too im just trying to think about the paint job i want orange, dark blue or still black with blue accents

It's auto for a reason and I beat plenty of 5 speed cars
