Do Pike produce a slime? Or do you just not like the general fish sliminess? I know some northern species can produce a thick, gross slime as a defense mechanism.

I raise Giant Canada Geese they are wonderful pets they love their mate and goslings. My dad was a hunter so I understand ... once you have them as family its different. ❤

i dunno.... fishing for salmon once they have entered the rivers is not sport.... the fish aren't feeding, they are dying, what's the point, let them do their thing in peace. Been there, done that, bought the T-shirt since the 70's

My girlfriend and I are travelling from North Carolina in the US to Toronto this weekend (6 September 2024) We are both avid fisherman and would love to find a place to fish for the day. Yeah, I'm not from around port hope,used to use eggs set at depth on a float, started fly fishing and actually started caching more, some guy named Graham I met in cobourg taught me a lot.keep the odd fish,if you keep the roe,you keep the fish...once you know what I was tought you'll fly fish...your definitely above the dam.

With the new fishing regulations in Port Hope from September 1 to October 14, which prohibit fishing from the south side of Jocelyn Street to the south side of the Canadian National (CNR) bridge (the first rail line north of Lake Ontario), where would be the best place to fish if the Ganaraska River is closed? I’ve already booked a hotel there for fishing, but with these new rules, I’m not sure if it’s still worth going. Any advice?

You guys are cast retrieving shallow in a hurry as if bass fishing. It's hard to entice muskie that are sitting deeper to come up like that. When they're not biting I just keep my eye on the depthfinder and structure and jig deep off the side of the boat. Easy on the arms. Also trolling is easy if you have snap weights you don't need fancy trolling equipment. Also if the muskie bite ain't happening what about sizing down your baits and catching walleye. By Chaudiere Lodge in Sept Oct there's lots of trophy action. I don't mean to be condescending I've been there.
