1991 XT350 with Boz's Carburetors installed.
Boz contacted me on TH-cam to ask about setting up his carburetors. He had been having a lot of trouble getting the bike going and just wanted a solution. I told him to send them to me and I would set them up and make them right. Sometimes people just need a break so this was a no cash deal other than to pay shipping. I was happy to help out and give someone the chance to ride this summer... good luck Boz!

1973 Honda CB500 Cafe - First Start after rebuild!
มุมมอง 2.5K11 ปีที่แล้ว
Starting my 1973 Honda CB500K2 Cafe Racer. This is a restoration/cleanup build. Everything has been taken apart, cleaned and replaced if needed. Reassembled to it's 1970's Cafe Racer look. Bars, Rear-sets, 4-into-1 exhaust and Rickman Fairing. All aftermarket parts are from the 70's and this is how the bike came when I bought it. Sat in an old barn for 25 years!

A set of carburetors from a Suzuki GS450. Ultrasonically cleaned, buffed and re-sealed. Reassembled. $20 per carburetor for cleaning, and extra $20 per for reassemble (includes dis-assembly). Thanks Stephen.
Fix for sheared gear PIN on 1980 Honda XL250S - Not Tested
มุมมอง 1.2K12 ปีที่แล้ว
I haven't tested this or anything. I can't see there being too much torque on the bearing here. I can see that this box of PINS I got from Connection Warehouse are going to be a good buy! Also not even sure if I could get those pins from Honda anymore, it is really hit and miss on what parts they have left for the older models.

Cage Kart - Quarter Midget Project - First Start - New Engine
มุมมอง 1.7K12 ปีที่แล้ว
This is a Cage Kart (or older quarter midget) that I picked up the other day. I went to the guys house to pick up a little trailer to make a motorcycle trailer out of and he was cleaning around the yard. I noticed the Kart sitting beside a barn so I asked about it. Cold start/First start of 2012 for the 1983 Suzuki GS750. It needs to have the carbs run through as something is sticking and flooding the engine with gas. Either a float stuck open or a needle.

This is a video detailing the removal of the IAC Valve or Idle Air Control Valve. This valve does exactly as the name states. It is used for air control when idling. This little bad boy gets a little dirty after a while and mine was certainly ready for a cleaning.. probably never cleaned since it was new. 1989 Toyota Celica GTS 3S-GE 3SGE, 2.0litre, 1998cc.

First start in over 25 years for this 1980 Canadian Tire waterpump. It has a 3HP Briggs and Stratton engine. It needed a lot of work. I had to remove the head to clean out the crud in the cylinder and the valves. Also removed the old sludge from the gas tank. New oil, new gas, new spark plug! Does not seem to be picking up gas from the tank so I just kept priming it. It runs so I will be tearin...

Sask here, I’m working on one of these gs450’s right now. Bike performs perfect when running, won’t start cold: chokes move fine but won’t deliver fuel/ I’d like to ask your opinion, I figure the bowl straw isn’t drawing fuel. I assume I’ve blown through all the passage ways but yup. Any emailed diagrams would be like gold nuggets. I am also a week left on shipping for an ultrasonic cleaner: great video too btw thank you

The main thing to look for is the idle circuit. The longer/thinner jet is the idle. The main one that the needle goes into is your high. Make sure those jets are clean. I use a wire brush bristle. Just bend one over and start working it in. Aside from that, as long you have cleaned it up and blown it out, the valves would be the next thing to check. Especially the intake - of course. I am actually working on an Arctic Cat 300 4x4 right now with this exact issue. However, I know that these carbs are not great on Arctic Cat's. The choke just simply does not work, but it is an enriching valve and not a solid butterfly to cut off the air flow. Try running it not hooked up to the air box and try to close off the intakes to the carbs. If it starts right up like it is a normal choke, then it is carbs, if it does not, then valves. Good luck. And let me know how you make out.

You need to fit the original airbox and filters to allow sufficient air back pressure for the carburetors to draw fuel at idle speeds..thats why at mid to full throttle it will respond..If you block the carburetor intakes by 50 percent you should have it idling perfect if the engine is good mechanically..Good luck

    • @irfaanxlcr8370
      @irfaanxlcr8370 4 ปีที่แล้ว

Wow! That's something to think about. I'm glad I read your comment. I have a 1978 Honda CB125S. Put on a brand-new Mikuni VM-22 carburetor with a foam air filter. As soon as the bike warms up it just would not idle. I have to keep throttling it or it'll stall. I'm thinking it might be the valve adjustment also.

I don't have any other videos on here of it and have since sold the bike, well, I traded the bike for a 1969 Triumph Bonneville 650 Bobber. I loved the CB500. it was very easy to work on and I did a full tear down and rebuild (with original parts), changing all gaskets, seals, etc. Everything internally to the engine was fine and right on spec - even after 28,000kms. I did put a set of rings in it and a clutch adjuster. Everything else was simply cleaned up, wire wheeled and put back on. The 4-into-1 exhaust was a Jardine, the rear sets were Dunstall, as were the bars. All original to the bike from 1975.
