I totally agree with your decision from a business perspective. It's definitely less expensive in the Philippines, plus the positive culture. Anywhere in the world, there will always be crimes and neighborhoods that are not so good. So, in that aspect, Philippines is really no different from other countries. cheap for you foreigners, but most people who live here in the Philippines can't afford food, apartments, especially going out because the employees' small wages are still not enough for their daily needs. I, who am a Filipino, have never been to Boracay or Palawan, which is a popular tourist destination here in the Philippines, because it is not affordable for us, the goods are expensive, so others go to foreign countries to work because of the high salary.

Only if you have a business and not thinking so much about money or salary to support your self it’s good to live here.

We migrated to Australia in 1984 in the middle of political instability. Filipinos were getting tired of martial law under Marcos. Benigno Aquino was assassinated at the airpiort tarmac. We landed in Sydney and now live in Perth. I just came back from 4 weeks in the Phil. I missed the food, the people, the beautiful nature, warm sea water, the smiles, the laughter. Traffic is bad in big cities but i expected this and the smog in metro Manila. I agree with everything you said about the 2 countries. I love Australia, the big spaces particularly in WA, the blue wide sky, the white sands, the blue ocean, the cleanliness and order. But service people only care for their pay. They dont know customer service, even expensive hotels and restaurants, malls, staff are doing just the bare minimum, most of the time not even that. Warm and friendly service is more the exception than the norm here. It's like they hate their jobs and cant wait to get out of there. However my street is like a village. My neighbours come from different countries and we get along. I find Aussies easier to talk to and get along with than Americans. Filipinos learned good customer service from Americans. They say Maam and Sir with a smile. In my opinion the students became better than the teachers. Tipping culture is American but in the Philippines it's much appreciated because of the low wages of service people. Good luck with your business plans in the Phil. There are crimes everywhere. It's being at the wrong place at the wrong time. Stay safe.

But i can definitely tell you the difference between America & the #Philippines 😅🤔🫣 Living in the Philippines for ( 12 years ) as far as, i could remember, “WE” #Filipinos, we’re very Family oriented, we respect our elders, we loved singing, dancing, & we’re 💕 soft-hearted💕 that’s why we loved inviting strangers to eat with us & sometimes, even to livd with us, even though ; we don’t have that much, we still helped those people who were in need. As well as, we loved 💕❤️😂 to smile, laugh, & forget about our problems. We don’t take our problems too seriously ; but rather, find a ( “SOLUTION” ) to each problems. Most kids here were definitely ( “Spoiled Rotten BRATS !” ) 🙄😬😭💔💔💔 They yelled @ their parents when they don’t get their way. SooOo SAD but that’s the REALITY here.NOT ALL but most of them are. Kids here marry too young & have babies @ such a young age. ( Babies having Babies ) . 💔😭😭😭💔 So, they usually end up in divorced & not only that, people here had “BAD TEMPERS” 😡😡😡 and their solution to their problems is to SUE you in any day & any court. Most Americans loved the FAST PACED of Living ; which is not that bad, but sometimes, you also have to SLOW DOWN & smell the roses 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹 in the garden. Life, is way too SHORT not to ENJOY it !!!!! So, we should ! An average Western country salary (ie USD $3K a month) will make you live like a king in the Philippines....So for Westerners it is a no brainer. However, even some skilled professionals like Engineers and Doctors have a hard time making ends meet these days that only corrupt politicians are the only ones living comfortably. Philippines is a bottom feeding mess to most of the majority
