Yesterday fishing on Coos Bay was a struggle but our cameras show that the fish were still there!
มุมมอง 117หลายเดือนก่อน
Yesterday fishing on Coos Bay was a struggle for us, well ME specifically when it came to catching fish. We rigged up one of our underwater cameras to see what was happening down below and it turns out there were a lot of fish that just were not interested in anything we threw at them. This only represents about five to ten minutes of camera time overall. Sometimes it fishing and not catching.

Coos Bay rockfish at night 16 2024
มุมมอง 472 หลายเดือนก่อน
Midnight rockfish trip. By our usual standards it was on the slow side and the vast majority of what we caught were juvenile fish of a very small grade. I originally guessed that I caught about sixty fish. About ten of the fish I caught were not recorded and Hunter caught about twenty more fish than I did. If you watch the video and do the math it turns out it wasn't such a bad night after all....

Catching surf perch in Winchester Bay
มุมมอง 2683 หลายเดือนก่อน
An incredible wide open surf perch bite in Winchester Bay in 2022. I didn't really intend to record the trip but the bite turned on wide open and non-stop so I just tossed the phone on the deck and live-streamed the best I could!

Get the cast net? 😈
Male shad bumping female shad to see if she’s ready to drop her eggs. Pretty cool to see…
That's kind of what we were thinking but not 100% certain. Thank you!

😅😮😮😢😮😮😮😅well information good show you 😅😅
Great... We liked and enjoyed to the end. Awesome... Full watched. Thanks Have a happy day!
Thank you!
I think they call that Bidenomics and Shrinkflation? 🤣
It's a yabbie in australia
Very cool! These ones aren't edible and we use them for bait for fishing.
@@basintacklecharleston9437 what a shame they aren't edible. Ours are really good to eat
@mickzammit6794 we have "crawfish" which are similar to your yabbies and we eat a BUNCH in the summer when they're easy to catch!
I’m appalled people still eat shrimp
“We’re going to do things to them” Well, that sounds a little terrifying 😂😂
Very nice!
I love underwater footage, great video.
Thank you! Every time I use my camera, which isn't often, I always end up asking myself why I don't use it more!
Caught many of them, that color fishing off the rocks. I would say, actually, most of the Ling we caught off the rocks was blue.. So, the shallow water theory could have some weight.. "Nereis The nereids in this entry are probably Nereis vexillos" is what we used for bait. They have a greenish/bluish iridescence.... We would scrape off muscles, to get to those worms, and use them as bait, off the rocks.. They love them worms..
"sea anneminies" are the only other thing I can think of, food wise near that color where we fished.
What's it taste like? Blue tacos sounds good 👍
How’s the crabbing? 🦀
😂
Of course bad weather! It's the start of spring break....lol
LOLOL Good point!!!!
amazing
Sick people
Ill be over there monday
I think you'll do well!!!
Bro its March wth
Modern technology of video recording. This was a live post on New Years.
Hey Rob, coming over Friday, thanks for the inspiration!
We limited out in Charleston last week just out by bouy one
Awesome! I hope the crabbing stays good well into summer this year!
Looks like you did great! 🦀👀 We crabbed out of Newport last Wednesday in 75’ of water for 1 single keeper crab out of 6 pots. No females, no undersized males… On a couple hour soak in the ocean… 👎🏻🦀🤷🏻♂️
Boooooo! That's NOT a good day, hopefully next time you make up for it!
We need to get a bunch of people and head to ODF headquarters and protest how “unwoke” they are as to not allow big female crabs to identify as males.
Who are we to tell the crab how to identify???😂
Thank you!
Good info!!!
We use an electric trolling motor!
How do you keep your boat so steady when fishing my the rocks?
Nutria Summer Sausage 🤷♂️👍
Great range on the remote!
How do they taste
I was so fucking confused 🤣🤣 well done
Lololol thank you!
Nice!
So I'm crazy confused. So birds drop them inland or did you go stick a bunch of crab bits in the trees to mess with us😂
Totally messing with y'all! It's become a yearly tradition!
We dont have snow crab here in Ontario Canada, but Eastern Pine Prawns have been spotted recently. I think due to climate change.
You HAVE to buy some prawns and get video of you "catching" them!!!!!!
Looks like you’re on Willamette Pass not the Oregon Coast! ⛄️❄️👀
Do you use any kind of bait or just have to be out at the right time?
Soft soled crabbing shoes is all you need!
@@basintacklecharleston9437 Where can I find me those fancy things? Walmart?
I’ll ask my sister. Pretty sure she’s caught crabs a time or two.
Lmao. Thank you.
You son of a gun! 😅
Yeti Hunt!
YES!
Where do I go again? And do I have to have a license punch card an parking permit and a And a land use permit I'm not sure what do I have to have? Do I need a Shovel gun. Probably will miss the Bloom before all this goes and get my permits.
Very short season, I think it's already over due to the quota being met!
April Fool's gold right here! Just waitin' for the day. Good job!! 😂
Lolol I used to do April fools posts on April 1 but it's too predictable that way!
@@basintacklecharleston9437 🤣🤣🤣 thank you so much for the laughs!!!
I used to go Snow Crabbing every winter, but since my favorite tackle shop closed up I don’t know any place to rent Snow Crabbing Buckets 😢
I was the only shop on the coast authorized to sell Snow Crab Buckets,I just wish someone else would get the license to sell them.
Hey man, cool video. Gotta love fresh dungeness
That late February 21st to early February 25th weather window was epic! Got on the big salt for trophy lingcod and cashed in myself! Got a great TH-cam video of a 25lb lingcod eating a 22” to 24” lingcod on the way up! ❤🐟🎣🎥
Nice!!
We need another nice weather window!
@@basintacklecharleston9437 That and for the striped bass to start showing up for their spring run. Spotted a few on Instagram the last few weeks… Lots of fun on the way! 👌🏻
Glad to see that you’re wearing your life jacket and staying safe! 🧐
Always!
Thank you!
That’s a very nice black rock fish.
Is the herring run over? They haven’t even started showing in Yaquina’s Bay (yet), but Crescent City went off last week and Englund Marine is out of sabiki rigs until Friday. 🧐
I think it is over for us but I'm not 100% certain. It seems to last a few days and then BAM it's over!
@@basintacklecharleston9437 Been waiting patiently for the Yaquina Bay bell to ring and the herring to arrive. Should be fun whenever they show up. 🔔
I miss you having the shop in the marina!!! Loved coming on there and having great conversations. You're probably glad to be out of it. I'm glad you're online still though
