2022 Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep hunting, rifle hunt, Colorado sheep hunt. My brother got this tag offered to him By the game and fish after someone turned it back in. With only 5 weeks to scout and get in sheep shape the game was on. We accessed a map with old kill sites from 2015 and prior and based our escouting around that. The season started on a Tuesday so we went up 2 days prior to scou...

1st rifle elk hunt in Colorado with my older brother. Big bull elk at the tail end of the rut.
6.5 cm is too light for elk
Thanks for Watching.
you sick fcks... what a shameful way to pursue an animal - this isn't hunting and there was no skill involved...
Great hunt. Thanks for being a customer and mentioning TrekBalls.
Great product! Thanks for watching!
Great bulls. I’m good friends with the trek balls owner. Great product!
@@billking4505 thank you and that’s cool I really like the trek balls. Being able to have a steady rest anytime is awesome. I harvest a caribou at 300 off the. A few years ago.
Great video.
Thank you!
great distance shots fellas...bummer on the antler break. nice work
Thanks for watching! We had no idea how steep that hill was until he started falling.
Congratulations guys. Well done. Just tip. A propane bolt with one of those heater that mounts on it works great at night to stay warm. That what me and my brother use. Thanks for sharing your hunt
Great tip thank you. And thanks for watching.
What type bullet in the 6.5?
He was shooting the 140 grain eldm by hornady
Congrats to both on a successful hunt. I wish I were 37 again 😂. I know that was a grunt getting those out.
Thanks for watching. We had a couple older guys come help us get them out. Hope I can pack out Of holes like that when I’m in my 60’s
Good job guys!
Thanks for watching!
Do you guys prefer 3rd rifle season in Colorado ?
We like hunting the later hunts but prefer 3rd over fourth since it’s 7 days long.
Great job on both bulls ! Congrats and I’m so jealous!!
Thanks for watching man definitely blessed to be able to fill 2 tags.
Really enjoyed video. God bless
Thanks for watching. I enjoy sharing what I can!
Cool hunt. Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
Angle of the trajectory, always changes yardage of the shot.
Correct. I thought my rangefinder was set but it must have gotten changed. All the little things to look at.
What elevation did y'all find the elk, we hunted from 6500 to 11800 never could find the elk
Both these bulls were harvested around 8,000 ft
1st rifle we saw more elk at lower elevations. Don’t know if it had anything to do with the hard winter last year.
Tough saying. Each unit is different. Just need to find all the things an elk needs.
A needmore at 600 yards on an elk, SMDH.
We’ve had great success with the needmore on elk.
Nice shot! Rifle, caliber, scope, and estimated range on the first one?
Thank you. Mine was a 300 wsm with a Burris veracity at 501 the other was at 601 with a 6.5 CM and a night force
Great video 👊🏾
Thanks brother!
What unit are you guys hunting?
I’d rather keep that information off of this platform. Thanks for watching tho.
So amazing… I want to get a bull one day. Great work keep the videos coming.
Thanks for watching! We had a blast. Every year is something new.
Thank you.
what bullets are these being used
I was using the Hornady precisions hunters 143 gr eld x bullet. My buddy was using the eld-m I believe
What unit did you hunt? I drew my tag this year. Pretty damn exited
@elkhunter111186 cool, I sent you an email. Thanks
Nice content brother. That looked like a lot of work.
Thanks brother. It was a lot of miles and hard work in 3 days but it was so worth it.
What rifle ??
He used a weatherby vanguard in 300 wsm with 180 gr bullet.
I don’t have ms but I do have hemiplegic migraine where I have stroke like symptoms on my left side after getting a migraine which is multiple times a week. Developed it after contracting Lyme disease. I’m hell bent on getting myself back and elk hunting.
Stay with it brother and good luck.
@@elkhunter111186 you too! Can be frustrating when your body lets you down
You gave me hope seeing this man. This video means more than I can ever express
I’m glad to hear that! Thanks for watching
how long did he lay there...noticed he stiff as a board an bloated up...flies all around...
It took us about 25 minutes to drop down the hill and cross the boulder field to get to him. So he wasn’t there long.
Having MS. You should’ve waited for the animal to get closer I feel from watching the video. He was coming in as he was shooting. That poor animal. Glad you were able to harvest him. But man that’s too far a shot for most let alone having MS. No way for one of gods Majestic animas to die. Much too far for an ethical shot given the circumstance.
I understand the feeling and also agree that an animal deserves our respect and shoot be harvested ethically and as quickly as possible. I was only there to video this hunt for jaqub. He was the one to pull the trigger. What sucks is he mind knew what he used to be able to to do but with the affects of MS it doesn’t allow for that performance
@@elkhunter111186 I’m all for a man that spent 13 years waiting but man practice and know your limits. Regardless what the past was. It’s all about knowing your distance. The calculated external ballistics for that rifle were not correct for that distance. Practice your abilities at the distance you are capable of shooting. Your friend that his. I’m really glad he finished the job and I’m glad he was able to harvest such a magnificent animal with his condition. Practice practice practice. No your limits! Pretty good job with the camera. That’s not easy for the average as well
I have MS and hunt every chance I get. Headed to CO next month!
Heck ya good luck man!
He was a beauty! How much meat was packed out?
Thank you. I’m not sure how much meat as far as poundage. We boned out all 4 quarters took back straps and tenderloins and neck meat. I would say it’s comparable to an average mule deer as far as amount of meat.
What part of Colorado do you hunt?
This was in palisade on the western slope. But I hunt anywhere I can get a tag.
@@elkhunter111186 I have a bear and doe tag this year in 44 2nd season, and buck in 38 3rd season. Wish me luck
@@thebrothers4311 very nice, good luck you should do good in 44. Too bad your buck tags not in there.
@@elkhunter111186 I tried to pull for it! Maybe next time
Awesome Video!! Wish i could get a ram tag in my lifetime... Cheer's
You and me both!
Sweet ram! Awesome hunt! Congratulations!
Thank you. I hope I can draw a tag of my own soon. Awesome hunt to be able to be apart of for sure.
@@elkhunter111186 you and me both on that tag!
Man! You need to go back to the range!
If you only knew the effects of MS. Jaqub did the best he could.
What did it score
We have not score him yet.
That is some creative cow call.
Try it sometime! Obviously worked to pull this bull our direction.
What happened with your brother? Altitude sickness or an accident? I pray that you all made it out safe and all are fully recovered! Thanks for sharing the hunt with us.
He got altitude sickness and started vomiting which then lead to extreme dehydration. But he has fully recovered now. Thank you.
Cool video
Thank you
Awesome ram congratulations, how many points did it take you to draw
My brother had 11 waited points, this tag was offered to him as a next in line when a person who drew returned their tag due to injury.
@@elkhunter111186 well it's still awesome.
Small ram, I guess they never get a chance to grow to maturity by shooting them young.
@@Treefarmer1984 10 years old and 7/8 curl. Seemed like a good ram to us. We’ve never hunted sheep before and it’s one of the bigger one killed in the unit through the years.
congratulations guys, nice bull. How far from the parking spot did you hike or you guys used ATV? Also did you have issues with elevation?
we hiked in 3 miles from the side by side, and had to take 2 trips to pack all of the meat and head. Elevation has not an issue for us on this hunt. Just depends where you are from and what elevation you will be hunting. My brother just filled a big horn sheep tag this week, i am hoping to edit that and throw a video on in the next few weeks. That hunt the elevation hit us all between 9500 and 13600 ft for that hunt.
That's a real nice bull.
Thanks he definitely didn’t have any ground shrinkage.
Shot placement…wtf
Yeah horrible shooting
The kid has MS and doesn’t have the ability to live life with out shaking. I felt good being able to film the hunt for him.
Nice man.
Great job guys ! Great shot ! Enjoyed it !
Good job. Buddy
Awesome Video! We are going on our first colorado bear hunt early September with a rifle. Any quick tips or suggestions for early september?
Sorry for the late response, we were out bear hunting as well. i am by no means an avid bear hunter, or do I claim to know much. All I know is find food and find water. the bears tend to be on the move a lot this time of year, preparing for the winter months. Hope you guys had some success, this state is being over ran by bears lately.
@@elkhunter111186 Thanks for the response. We just got back a couple of weeks ago. Saw a few and learned alot, but no luck. Not to mention it went from 95 degrees one day to 6in snow the next.
Good job guys! I live in Farmington and drew the 2020 Late Feb hunt for units 32,34,36,37 Would really appreciate some tips:) Nice video and great Ram!
Don't buy good boots buy great ones 😉 jk hard hunt good luck very underrated
He is right about having good boots, I couldn't believe how rough the rolling hill country was, without ankle support you will hurt your ankles. trekking poles were a most as well. As far as the sheep hunting goes, my cousin got out a few days before season to scout some areas that we had marked on google earth.
Great shots. So after cleaning him up how many shots hit him
