hmmmm, that name looks familiar..... ;-) it's been so much fun playing and competing with so many other players that you inevitably run into again. it reminds me of vanilla and tbc wow, before layering, and when you only played BGs against your own server.

I just started playing this last Sunday. Made it to level 7 1/2, and will be grouping with a buddy this Thursday hopefully. Cleric and Tank combo, so I’m sure he’d be down to squad up if you’re free! Great video btw

@@GiddeonPlays I am a full time Artisan in game -- so I pretty much am frustrated daily. I do like the vision -- I just wish the path there was quicker for gamers. I have not lost my interest though -- and I do not expect to soon. Hoping changes continue to come.

You're in a good spot, artisan skills are huge for guilds (and individuals) in Ashes. Overall, I'm pretty optimistic at this point, and am enjoying getting to be part of the process to improve the game as they continue to build.

good catch, i noticed that as well. i'm using flash cure for targeted healing and reserving mend for topping off myself currently as i don't find it very effective for group healing at higher levels. this is probably worth a bug report however.

excellent question... i'm not sure. you need to be level 10 to become a citizen, so i'm guessing level 10 may be a restriction for that as well. let me know if you confirm that once you hit 10, i'm considering making a follow up / slightly longer updated guide to the marketplace

i'm not sure how that would work since there is no mouse cursor when you're in action mode. you'd have to hit the the key to toggle action camera on and off to be able to mouse over and cast. i get what you're saying about having to hold down right click for movement, but i would highly recommend tab-target mode if you going to be group and raid healing.

They have that in Ashes is the Dual Target Lock under Targeting in Game play Options

i played through the story campaign and enjoyed the T&L, but man that combat was ....rough.... lol.

This was first done in Warhammer online I believe. You have an enemy target frame and friendly target frame at all times. Works great for healing

i honestly think that's a big reason why they pushed for only 1 (now 2) US server and 1 EU server. they want to stress test not only the current systems, but our human behavior within those systems with scarce resources. i think playing the long game, following most of the suggestions i outlined will win out in the end, but lawless zones is a whole other factor i did not consider with this.

ability bloat is a real problem in some mmorpgs, but i think for their target audience it adds a bit more depth than just having ~6 like in new world. i personally don't feel overwhelmed at all and think they're near a sweet spot. have you had a chance to jump into the alpha, or just checking it out via videos and streams for now?

Just looking ,playing corepunk for now like the old-school style ,aoc looks ok for me right now but not enough for me to jump idk feels kinda like TOL in a way and combat and I'm not a big fan

definitely wait then. on release, you can just pay for a single month if you want to try it as it's no box cost, just a sub fee. what is TOL by the way?

@@danielmaldonado6388 i think it's not for everyone and there are a lot of good games out there for a lot of different tastes. they are really building a great experience for their core target audience. i for one will gladly pay a sub for a game like this. if it doesn't work out i'll be back in Guild Wars 2 🙂

Great points. I’m pretty hopeful for a few reasons. Agro issues are supposed to get fixed, they’re investing in live in game GMs, they already have plans to actively combat and shutdown RMT. Have been in the official discord or tried the alpha? Steven is very active in game and discord; it’s a true passion project.

interesting, i need to try this or see it in action in a video i think, but i get the gist of what you're saying. you could end up losing materials when processing by running out of space?

@@GiddeonPlays Yea. Its gets worse. You also loose a queue spot in the processor you are using. I know this will affect lumbering, possibly metal working. I've not used all of the tables so not sure if others would be.

thanks for the support dude! that's what is great about a game like this, is the fact that you have to interact with others to survive, and it ends up being a lot of fun because of it. it's rare to find a chill yet serious group that values both hardcore and casual players alike; FED has been pretty dope these past couple months.

That is an interesting point, sometimes things change per group such as "everyone just need X", so you have to be a bit fluid with things, but it sounds like you handled the situation you explained well. Even sorting out loot issues is fun compared to playing games where you just queue for things and no one has to interact at all.

I’m optimistic just because I’m having fun in the alpha, but time will tell. Hoping they can use the 80/20 rule and launch with the most important core features and release other things as updates.

@@AmnaMrzic did you have a chance to try it out? if you're a fan of tab target or tab target / action hybrid it feels *really* good to play. i would compare it to classic world of warcraft with a dash of guild wars 2 maybe? BDO action combat i hear is top notch, so may not be your cup of tea then.

Glad it helped! Interestingly enough, on the ashes wiki class grid, Cleric primary with Rogue secondary is "Shadow Disciple". I wonder if that could give you the flavor you're after.

couldn't agree more! while you can solo, the game rewards group play. while i'm in a very active guild, it's a blast randomly grouping with others and chatting. so much better than queueing for dungeons and never saying a word to anyone in other games.

@@GiddeonPlays Yes, I also bought the 120$ package. It wasn't cheap, at least for Europe, these are serious money, but I was following Ashes for quite a while and I knew I want to try it. Those early days packages were sweet a few years ago, but I wasn't 100% convinced paying the money. I have managed to play a bit this phase 1, I've tested the bard,fighter and mage and had a blast with the bard. Overall, yes, I think it's worth the cost. I was surprised as well how decent was the game on my low graphic card (RX580) which isn't even the minimum required, still around 20fps, decent enough to enjoy the game

@@catalincatalin4101 i bought the same package. knowing that we'd get over a year of access to test the game in alpha, beta access, and a month at launch, it was worth the cost to me. impressive it runs that well on the RX580, once they optimize it, performance should only improve. i've been maining the cleric, but played a mage to 10, and everything else to somewhere between 5 and 7. i'm probably going to stick with cleric and play mage as an alt.

you bet! one of those classic mmorpg feel-good moments is getting something for each empty gear slot. :-)

that's a great point actually with how much of a pain getting copper has been. with them hopefully making copper more readily available, it may be worth it just for the durability.

i would recommend checking in on it from time to time but don't spend money to test it yourself. while there are a lot of games coming out, there's nothing that checks the boxes for Ashes target audience. i paid to test the game, as i want to be part of the collaborative effort to shape the game as they finish it.
