I have a question. What if, in a self defense scenario, and my perpetrator is wearing a shirt that I can grab, is that a good substitute for a gi? For example, if the perpetrator is wearing a hoodie, can I grab those like how I would grab a gi?

Displaying BJJ with Judo rules is like displaying muaythai with boxing rules. Obviously those will win with those rules. Like they would be starting that match from backmount BJJ winrate would be 100%. Except that BJJ teaches standup too.
