Hi! My name is Keith and I make all kinds of videos, from gaming to hiking!
DAN'S TRUCK - SCARY STORIES FROM THE INTERNET
This is the first story I tried to make a video on but I never exported it. The story is a lot better than the other one and I experimented with an outro as well. Let me know what you think.
I do know that the voice pacing needs to be a lot better...
Thanks!

Are you using traction control or driving aids of any sort, like stability, control, anti locking brakes, etc.
@@johndaughters3289 depends on the car I use traction control on RWD 1000hp cars but ABS on everything
Rain sucmks !! Not too shabby for driving in the rain
This game stutter alot on my 4090. Fuck this shit i just purchased me a ps5 and it runs and looks great i just couldn't deal with the stutter anymore i see why people be saying the prefer console over PC now because console is just so damn easy to work man.
@@KshunLittle I have an Xbox for this reason but some titles are ps5 exclusive and then I gotta rock Stutter Hill 2
You past by history you cannot even imagine (and had no idea).
I made a video about this area, check it out!
While in Vietnam I bought 5 acres up on Brower Rd. It was one of the highest places on Larch Mountain at the time. I put a trailer on the property and soon found I couldn’t keep up with the heavy snow fall. I sold it and mover to Dodson.
Thanks for the vid, I'll have to see if it helps me tomorrow. Just wanted to say that it really shouldn't be up to the consumer to fix the problem, the devs should.
back in 1974/1975 I worked for a state run program called manpower, it was to keep teens busy during the summer . I was 15/16 , we would go up to Larch Mountain and maintain the hiking trails , clear brush , pick up trash , etc . we got paid minimum wage and they gave us a sack lunch . they taught us work skills and responsibility . lots of good memories .
@@tonyidle7813 that’s awesome! 😎 thanks for sharing!
Cool! A couple of years after that, I worked for the Youth Conservation Corp doing the same thing. Up near Ukiah.
Can you mountain bike on this?
@@HalJikaKick I saw people biking on it but I don’t know where they went after the washout
@omgzLAZERpewpew THIS road was open to Larch mountain road during Eagle creek fire. Forest service ripped it up again after the fire.!
@ there’s been quite a few things I missed due to timing
I tried this and it is running better now than before. I had constant CTDs before more than stuttering. The game looks great on medium settings with FXAA and TSR running on my 10600K w/ 3070Ti. Holding 50 fps on Win 10 with 1440p res.
My grandfather was a logger here and my dad born in the logging camp at Palmer in 1922. He could remember the flume and the steam engine which he called a 'donkey.' I wish my dad was alive to see this video.
@@artheaj I also wish he was still around sorry for your loss
I had a friend, now deceased, who lived there as a child. His father had a job with the lumber concern there. That was probably in the fifties and they had to move when the mill closed.
@@dalebrabb4756 I wish there was like an annual event or meeting for the people of bridal veil
You have pretty much used all my photos (without permission) to make this video
@@GuyMeacham Hi I can remove the video if you’d like I wasn’t really sure how to contact you but they were available for download so I tried to credit you for everything
I have been to the Buick, the bullet car, Datsun, motorcycle graveyard and the small cabin. I did not go inside. I may be mistaken but I believe the photo of the woman sitting and holding the steering wheel is my supervisors wife.
@@Jimiscarving hey that’s awesome! I don’t know where the Datsun, cabin, or Buick are. I tried not to include pictures of people if I could avoid it. Did you guys go together at one point? It looks like he goes every year to the Nesika lodge and Palmer mill road.
Lots of slides
I'd give your video a thumbs up but something about the voice burrows into my epidermis and chaps my hide.
@@jetwrench2854 whoa! You should wear some underwear!

How i can use vulkan ?
Been up and down that road many times.
@@kd7alt surprising amount of people up there the other day!
History is beautiful
Cool but your title is click bait, there is no ghost town unless you left it out.
@@alexenaku I posted another video with the findings but there’s quite a few things still in Palmer like a few buildings and mysterious old vehicles. Technically, it can still be a ghost town even if there’s nothing left of it. Thanks for watching!
@@omgzLAZERpewpew Thanks for your reply, I will check out your other videos!
Than you for the vidjya. I will have to do some research and possibly go for a hike back in there.
I just went two days ago and saw quite a few people but just be aware of your surroundings and you’ll be all right. 😊
So I did this, and when I loaded up my save, the FPS was so much smoother, but all the shadows and fog were gone and there were a bunch of graphical glitches. It was like someone turned the lights on in the game and there was no more darkness
Interesting, it seems like it works for some and not for others for some reason.
Beautiful photos, great historical find and background. Thank you.
I am glad you enjoyed it. Thanks so much for watching my videos 😊
Back when men were men, life wasn't easy back then.
Things have changed so much since then. It’s actually interesting to see a town made by a business with roads and railroads, not the government. Kinda something you don’t see today.
@@omgzLAZERpewpew Iron ore and gold mines in Australia used to build towns around their assets and have community buildings etc. But now it is mostly fly in fly out and the small towns just fade away with only a few tourists visiting.
This is hard labor, working for the rich. Men were men, but they were owned.
766 views, 30-Nov-2024. Thank you for collecting, colorizing, and posting these historic logging photos. Interesting to have the roughing sawmill at Palmer, and a flume to send the rough boards to the finishing mill at Bridal Veil. This was a huge enterprise overall, at smaller operations like Palmer, the piles of discarded tin cans from the dining hall can cover an acre.
Hi, thanks for your comment. It was an undertaking to colorize these photos and compile them but it really brought some life to the area for me! I have some photos of tin cans just like you mention actually!
I’ve been up that road. It’s been a few decades, but I had family that lived in the area. I also was a camp counselor at a summer camp on Larch Mountain, I did a lot of hiking and exploring around the camp area before setting up the camp for the season there’s still a lot of those old timber rails in existence, and I even found an old log truck and several steam powered machines. There’s a lot of history that that’s been cut off by modern day development and infrastructure.
That’s awesome I just went up it today and I got to a big washout but I’ve seen a lot of stuff near the bullet car like Ariel’s footbridge. I stumbled on this place by happenstance and it’s really intriguing to me. Cool to hear of others who have been up there! 😊
Uh...so if one wanders off in the woods perhaps a firearm should be taken along....although the cougars are probably Democrats....
I definitely always bring one and I feel naked without one but as much as a wuss I’ve been I’ve never seen any wildlife
thaank you man, before that i was having stutters every 2 seconds and it was unplayable, it got rid of 85% of it so there are still some stutters but its actually bearable
@@crashdaniel5807 hey no problem glad the fix is still working
Hey everyone! Thanks for liking my video. I will be releasing another video tonight with all the interesting finds people have stumbled upon. The video is just taking me a while. Thanks again!
I’ve been up larch rd a lot but I don’t ever remember seeing that gate so wheee about is that road
@@Greendew23hi, the gate is actually when you go down the scenic Highway. by angels rest there’s is extra parking. there is a long winding road that no one goes up, called Palmer mill road. Be careful if you’re gonna try going up it 🙏

"Multiple cougar sightings", that fizzled my excitement to go visit, I normally go hiking solo. Am looking forward to my new electric bike, and exploring around Mt Hood on roads closed to normal vehicles, but still outside designated wilderness areas. This area sounds cool, but that last image of the former road turned into a creekbed...looks like foot traffic only. Thanks for making this video, please make more. Subscribed!
Hi! I ran into a couple people up there who said those signs are old, from when a cougar was sighted at Angels rest. But I have also seen some photos of some cougar tracks online. I went 3 times and didn’t see anything, but I just want people to be safe. 😅
I’ll post a video of the current conditions tonight, you can definitely bike significant portions
If you spend any time out in the hills you can bet your ass you’ve been watched by a cougar. People rarely see cougars but cougars see people much more than most realize.
@@guaporeturns9472I felt like I was being watched multiple times up here
@@guaporeturns9472 Im an Oregonian native, I've ran across more cat tracks than cats, however I've been blessed to see two large cougars up close in my truck. They were definitely curious and paced around the truck for a minute before leaving, however if I was outdoors im sure the story probably would be different. They're out there, and they see you generally before we see them. They're predatory after all!
Thanks now its less stuttering but still Stutter hill 2 remake XD

While in Vietnam I bought 5 acres on Toll Road that’s off Brower Road. When I got home I worked at the PDX airport and would take Alex Barr road (very close to Palmer Mill) to my place. My little 8X30 foot trailer was on Young Creek and had an old sawmill on it. After 2 years I learned the snow fall was too much, I sold it and moved to Dodson.

@@omgzLAZERpewpew Turns out its just how silent hill 2 remake runs because of unreal engine 5. I just learned how to deal with it and completed the game regardless. Playing with an unlocked framerate seems to be the best route to take for minimal stuttering.
