Good review, man. I mostly play Jacksons and strats, but I'd like a fixed bridge guitar and this looks ergonomic enough with the lighter body and 60s neck.Some say this sounds somewhere between a full body LP and an SG. I wish they had some darker "more metal" finishes though... I think Gibson is really trying not to offer cheaper guitars that look like their black Customs.

Shifting to chinese production and at the same time increased prices too much (Tube amp prices for Solid state is obviously too greedy). To bad, the amps are great 😢 Let's hope for a Randall brand revival in the future

Crate makes the best solid-state metal amps in history even better than Ampeg whose legendary H140C lead distoriton was used for some Crate models, but their stock distortion as long as the solo distortion has the Midrange control for scooping is untouchable. *They produced the GX and a few other lines where you have a shape control, but no midrange! They sound horrid until you mod them and return that control to it, or you run a shelving EQ on the effects loop and deeply scoop the mids.* I have 2 all tube heads and 5 solid-state heads, and the solid-state are just so much easier to get good distortion out of than the valves and one is a high performance Carvin V3. *I also am a formally educated electrical/electronics engineer which is one of the most complex and difficult sciences on earth.* I love valves but they're overrated, and Crate solid-states are unjustly condemned.

I got a RD1H a few weeks ago and I've been loving it. Got it for 200 Canadian.

I had a pacer with Suhr pickups and that thing was a sweet guitar. The action was low and it rocked.

Actives are bridging the gap between active and passive. In the future I expect the use of actives to continue to grow because the benefits not only outweigh the downside, but the downside is going away. You can get the best of both worlds. EMGs are still extremely popular, Fishman is growing, Duncan makes actives, and there will be more competition in the future. The 81 exploded in popularity in the 80s because players wanted more gain with more headroom. Amps were getting hotter and pickups were needed that were totally noiseless. The combination of an 81 running through a Boogie, hot Marshall or Soldano is just classic. It's the standard for high gain tone. The biggest hangup a lot of players have about EMG is that they run off batteries (the active EMGs, not their passive models).

They renamed the models. They also sell out before they drop new batches. I think FF thinks they have a solid market for signature copies. Sig copies are also a typical Chibson thing, which is exactly what Fireflys are, Chibsons and Chenders.

I always see people do the solo for Dave and Adrian for this, but I see very few guitarists do the beginning, which is one of my favorites that I have yet to hear, along side Wasted Years, Hallowed Be Thy Name, Phantom Of The Opera, and a few others, but CSIT tops it at the moment. Cort International builds for so many companies. Few folks realize that other than a very very tiny custom shop Ibanez doesn't even own any factory. Hoshino Gakki owns the name and contracts Ibanez guitars to be built by OEM manufacturers. Cort builds many Ibanez guitars. Fender Squier lines are often built by Cort. Etc...etc... Those Dillions and ESP ltds and some Mitchells and many Harley Bentons are built by Inyen Vina in Vietnam. ESP/ltd does not own a factory in Vietnam. Heck Gibson tries to fool us into believing they OWN a factory in China. Lol...they have clever lawyers but in-fact if you read closely you read ," Gibson opened a new factory in China" I can " open" a new restaurant without actually owning the real estate. Tricky. Quingdoa is NOT owned by Gibson. A quick Google tells us that no foreign entity can own land in China, excepting a single family residence and only with meeting a lot of requirements. Before PRS contracted SE series axes to Cort, they contracted them to Samick International to be built in Korea. The whole biz is a bit deceitful. When a guitar company says " our factory" they rarely mean that they own the land or buildings. They can own some of the machines and materials. 40+ years in the biz and at some time I have been an authorized repair center for numerous brands, SLM, C. Bruno, Hoshino G. etc. Very few actually own their own factory.

I love drop C, i can never decide if i prefer C, B, or Bb. And nice shouting out the faceless one of my fav bands. Old Born of osiris was in drop C as well. Great riffing too man sounds sick.

Based on the Eminence impulse responses, they seem to do better center miced. So it's possible that mic placement could make these two speakers sound closer.
