going through the lived experience of a person with a disability is humbling. indeed the perspective of time changes.

Have you become disabled, out of curiosity. Just to add, from my perspective it hasn't been humbling, but rather traumatizing due to disability stigma, how inaccessible the world is and how the world generally doesn't want to deal with PWDs and in a lot of cases wish people with disabling conditions die. It is incredibly difficult.

I find your book reading interesting ... any particular reason on focus on disability?

Hi 👋🏾 Kendy 😃 I should include this in my YT BIO actually: 2 yrs ago I was diagnosed with a progressive condition (rhuematoid athritis) & recently a neurological discoder (fibromyalgia) which both cause physical & mental impairments. But I do have a TikTok account which delves deeper into my current experiences and my newly acquired status as a disabled person. I have actually been working with the disability sector for over 10 years & my field of study & expertise is in social justice on gender, PWDs & youth. The main reasons for the book readings: 1. Persons with Disabilities sector is hugely marginalised- it is important to bring us & our experiences to the fore 2. The field of Disability ( literature, authors, discourse ) is in the frindges of society- thus showcase to people material they wouldn't otherwise consult 3. A more personal reason: my actual voice is affected by the conditions I have acquired and want to use it. My distinct voice has always been 1 of the most treasured features. Stay Tuned for more. As I resume posting 📫
