    I tried Protecta clear on my beaded earrings and it took the color off the beads. I guess the beads they used to make the earrings are extraordinarily cheap! I had to paint the different beads with oil-based paint to restore them. UGH!

    I wonder if the 6mm spring ring is measured including the loop on the end that one would attach the bracelet to. Thanks for sharing, Lisa!

    • @LisaYangJewelry
      @LisaYangJewelry 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think you're correct, but it is a little misleading. I double checked their website to see if they give details on how it is measured, and they didn't (that I see). For the jump rings, they did - so that was my fault. I'm learning that you really have to read all the details every time, even when you think you know what you like. But I still love Rio Grande's products. And they have good customer service.

    What is the wire? What is in the tumbler to do this ?

    • @LisaYangJewelry
      @LisaYangJewelry 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The tumbler is filled with mixed shape stainless steel shot. It contains different shapes like pins, ellipses and ovals that help get into the crevices of your jewelry. I use my tumbler with copper, brass, sterling silver, and gold filled wires. I don't often use it for plated wires because it will wear off the finish. Hope that helps.

    • @LisaYangJewelry
      @LisaYangJewelry ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree. It’s super easy to make the knots and have them in the right place. You just need to find the right size thread to make it work

  • @jaredschrock5270
    @jaredschrock5270 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do you know the hole size of the pearls, and what size silk?

    • @LisaYangJewelry
      @LisaYangJewelry ปีที่แล้ว

      I used a size 2 thread for this technique so I could fit the thread through the holes twice. If I were knotting the ‘regular’ way I would use a size 4 silk or nylon. You’ll find details at this article on my website. www.lisayangjewelry.com/2018/10/perfect-pearl-and-bead-knotting-simple.html

  • @janalong2702

    It looks the same as if one was using an awl or tool. I always get frustrated knotting with an awl, because I could do 15 great knots but then mess up during the middle and have to start over, cause once the knot is in place you can't Un knot it

  • @janalong2702
    @janalong2702 ปีที่แล้ว

    I don't know why anyone would even use an awl. This is so much easier and secure

    • @LisaYangJewelry
      @LisaYangJewelry 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Using an awl is a skill. It's very meditative once you master it. The problem is when you're still learning or just want to make a single bracelet and you're using an awl. You're almost done and make a knot too far away and ruin the whole darn project. This technique is an alternative that is easier with less risk of failure.

    • @janalong2702
      @janalong2702 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @LisaYangJewelry I've been in that position. Then my only option is to change up the pattern by slipping a larger hole bead over the knot and then continue.

    Could you please state sizes? What size are your seed beads? 2mm or 3mm. What is the thickness of your elastic or string?

    • @LisaYangJewelry
      @LisaYangJewelry ปีที่แล้ว

      For the daisies in the video, I used size 11 Preciosa Brand seed beads. They are approximately 2 mm in size and they are more donut shaped than other brands like Toho or Miyuki. They are also slightly more irregular which I find to be a really nice quality for the daisies. However, I think any brand or size can work, but you may have to alter the number of beads you use to surround the center bead. As for the string, for this video I used a double strand of nylon thread, Nymo brand size D. I don't normally double my thread and I'm not sure why I did here - probably just my mood that day and it makes it a little stronger. I've also made daisies with FireLine or WildFire or other brands of fishing line. They are stiffer than nylon thread. Honestly, you can even use sewing thread, it just tangles more easily and wears faster. I wouldn't use elastic though. Hope that helps.
