The Journey Podcast - Episode 1 ft. Shahma Hoda wears many hats including Student of Knowledge, Teacher, Political Analyst, Father, and more. Follow along as we ask him some of the pressing questions of today.
Once I was really fat, awkward, and unstable and somehow women really liked me. Then I got fit and learned confidence and women stopped liking me. I don't get it. I just want to give up.
Now you're competition. Fear not, and use your advantages.
Such a nonsense comment. They may have liked you as a friend when you were fat and awkward.
Actually married women & women with kids are the ones warning us to stay single & child-free more than anyone else.
Older women see younger women as competition, and naturally tend to sabotage them.
You should really change your profile picture. Animals with fangs are prohibited by Islamic dietary laws.
I mostly agree but you see this a lot with men nowadays too. It’s the blind leading the blind. These con men appeal to the male gaze with great physiques and a superiority complex, and try to give young men advice on how to get women. Why would men know what women want? Shouldn’t we be seeking out advice from women?
mmmmmm show me when a woman gave you good advice on how to get women. I know I never ever heard it.
A lot of bad advice out there from men, for men.
The only people that should be giving advice are men and women that have been married for 15+ years. They have proven through experience that they have understood their man/woman and have also understood the requirements to be tolerant and flexible to stay together so long.
@@rrwholloway As such a man, I can tell you the secret. Just say, when absolutely necessary, these seven words: "You are right, and I was wrong." They work like a charm, but they are hard to utter.
So many gems from Baba Ali! I don’t think I’ve seen this on any profile and now I’m not sure I had this on mine either!
I gotta share this with my single friends. I can't talk to y’all no more! 🤣 We can see why women end up in that “strong, independent” role: - they often don’t have a safe, reliable partner to lean on, so they fill that gap themselves and become what they want in a partner (like Baba Ali mentioned) - they see other women stuck in abusive cycles (often in their own families) because they lack financial freedom - economic realities - the constant “girl boss” messaging from society - the increased support and positioning in most professional sectors for women to succeed - feminist rhetoric (both the positive and the more extreme sides) - pressure from family (sometimes because they need to help their families and sometimes just to keep up appearances or both) - the western focus on the individual vs the collective - a capitalist culture that keeps telling us we aren’t enough as we are until we purchase more goods and services or reach certain milestones academically, professionally, financially, and socially I never thought about it from the perspective of men also becoming what they want in a partner, interesting take. 🤔 I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing but maybe it's lacking balance with the other qualities or it's being over prioritized. Can't speak from personal experience on this tho 👀 Actually nevermind, unfortunately I do get surprised when physically attractive men are intelligent/curious, responsible/reliable, kind/generous, socially/environmentally conscious, and emotionally mature/considerate so clearly there's a stigma 😆 I’d love to hear Baba Ali’s view on the data showing how average men are starting to fall behind in comparison to average women, as pointed out by Prof. Scott Galloway (@TheProfGPod), Dr. Alok Kanojia (@HealthyGamerGG), and other reputable professionals in the self improvement space. The stats say men are dropping in college enrollment, struggling more with mental health, losing out in the job market, getting more isolated, and increasingly escaping through gaming, porn, or social media and I wonder how Baba Ali thinks all of this ties together.
Loved this ❤
Masha'Allah Tabarak'Allah. Great content. Very beneficial and much needed.
JazakAllah Khair! Appreciate the love for the episode! 🙏🏽🙏🏽
This is great advice. Thank you for sharing.
You're welcome! I hope it helps!
FANTASTIC upgrades to the podcast, Abir! How exciting to have Baba Ali on the show. 👏👏👏 Just checked out the Half Our Deen website and Baba Ali is definitely doing something special here. Spreading the word of his live event to my friends as well, this was great marketing for it. The beneficial questions you asked, insightful and inspiring content from Baba Ali, and the energy between you two left me wanting to hear more. 😁 Keep up the great work, passion, and drive/curiosity to keep improving, mashaAllah.
Thank you for the kind words! Our conversation continued after the conclusion of this video, I'll post the extended talk in parts. Stay tuned!
MaShaAllah, an excellent episode! Baba Ali Definitely a Maverick in our community. A lot of interesting take aways from his journey. I definitely recommend HOD over many of the apps today. Sometimes old really is gold. HOD questions were instrumental for me to screen and Narrow down my martial prospects. Alhumdulillah. JazakAllah Khair for bringing us his Journey. Keep em coming!

Yessir!

Thank you 🙌
Great podcast
I need itt
Machallh Tabarka Allh good
Great hybrid camera but not really in the budget of most starters. Especially since you dont really want to use a kit lens on this and the good ones are at least 600+ for a zoom and much more depending on your needs.
💯
It's too expensive to call a starter camera, for half the price you can get an a6400 which is more than enough for a beginner as it is, and it leaves you money to buy lenses, lighting, tripod, etc.
Yea I agree depending on the budget, different setups work for different people. My main point was that this camera has a lot of the more premium features at the lowest price point
Nice work!
Thank you!
Thanks for the recommendations dude
Great review. Concise yet thorough! Appreciate the protip of not shooting a podcast in a sauna 😂
