Although this scene may not have aged well, it's a sweet and funny film - apart from all the heartbreak. Highly recommended. Baxter was showing Fran how much he liked her and in those days stalking was less of a thing.

The plushies is alright what I really want is the scenery in the background such a beautiful quiet place to relax and escape to.

He might start off as creepy, but he changes throughout the film. As he helps her, he grows to see her as a human being with feelings and boundaries, and not just as someone on a pedestal who he needs to pursue. By the end, he lets her go, apparently forever. It’s her choice to return to him. That’s the point of the whole movie.
Absolutely it's a tale of redemption and one of my favourite movies. I chose that clip as an example of behaviour that hadn't aged well.
He also learns to see her as a person who isn't an angel, without human fault or needs.

it take me a while to understand renge "oni game" basically the game is we must pretend/act/speak like oni...so renge pretend to be like her sister(sensei) kazu-nee...all the word she speak is base on what kazu-nee speak at home...maybe in renge mind kazu-nee is oni
