❤❤
One can only wonder what Sandy's career would have been like had he pitched the same way in Brooklyn that he did in L.A. He could easily have been a 300 game winner had it not been for the arthritic left arm.
Thank you for uploading this. To hear Vin doing his pregame spiel is music to my ears. And now I can show my son how great he was.
America needs more Hero's. Living examples of humble respected mentors. They both openly exercised their religious freedoms, while respecting each other's beliefs, practices. Give credit to the organization, media, but mostly the Fans.... the consumer. No entitlement. Greatness free of ego or agenda doing what gives them life. I'm going to stop paying attention to the Villains.
Two of the greatest legends of not just Dodgers history but in MLB history in the late great Vin Scully and Sandy Koufax.
He also in his final football broadcast called "The Catch". I grew up hearing this man's voice during ball games and Farmer John commercials. This hurts deep inside, but you have to be happy for a man that lived such an amazing a full life...doing and sharing with us the thing he loved more than anything...Dodger baseball. Thank you sir!
Rip
I'm too young to remember Sandy pitch and I have never seen a Dodger throw a perfect game but Vins call of Sandy's Perfecto is maybe my greatest Dodger moment in history.
wait a minute... Sandy described 'hero' and 'goat' as opposites....funny how that has changed in just the past few years...
Great video. 2 all time greats in their respective fields. As a kid in Arizona, we could only get radio broadcasts of Dodger games. Many a day and night were filled with the unique voice of Vinny, calling the action and relating great stories. Sandy hits all the right spots with his speech, just as he did with his marvelous pitching.
I remember listening to Dodger broadcasts when Sandy Koufax was pitching early in his career, and hoping the day would come when he developed control, because he was wild as a March Hare. And , boy, did he ever develop. WOW
Still very handsome man ...chiseled look 👀 says leader
Two of the greatest acts ever. Vin and Sandy. I've been a lifelong Dodger fan and I appreciate both. I saw a Koufax no hitter and for years and years fell asleep listening to Vin call games. My sons also had the great fortune to listen to Vin. Thank you both...you were both amazing.
Two great , classy men . Both heroes !!!
Watching the dodgers play is just not the same without Vin. It feels like something is missing
I don't think the Rockies even existed yet when Scully's career began.
Vin started his career in 1950. Rockies first season was in 1993. That's 43 years
I grew up in Sandy’s old neighborhood in Brooklyn, he’s still a legend there to this day!
The only thing special about Vin Scully was his longevity, he was seriously overrated. But not Koufax. For the last 5 years of his career he was the best there had ever been.
Sandy could win ten games in 2021.
Absolutely blasphemous
Miss you in 2021 Vin! 😭
He's still alive.
Growing up in Southern California, I was a huge Dodgers fan. My dad took me to games at both the Colosseum and Chavez Ravine. So many fans had their radios, listening to Vin call the game. Nights during baseball season, I had my radio next to my bed, listening to Vin's mellifluous voice. “Good evening, wherever you are”, one of his trademark phrases. Vin didn’t just announce, he entertained. He didn’t detract from the game, he embellished. He knew when to talk, and he knew when to be quiet. His magnificent timing was never better than in Sandy's no hitter, when in the ninth inning he simply called the time, the outs, and the count, knowing history was being made. Masterful. Best sports announcer ever.
Many years ago in Houston, when they were the 45s, I saw Koufax one night and Warren Spahn the next.
Living in Los Angeles and getting the chance to listen to Mr. Scully provided so many lifetime memories. The most amazing thing was he called the Dodgers games for sixty seven years and it's longer than I have been alive (currently fifty five years)
Sweet!
I'm sure Vin Scully to the Dodgers was like Jack Buck to the Cardinals. He seemed like a class act!👍❤
Epitome of class.
Sandy was the best pitcher and Vin the best announcer in the last 60 years, maybe ever, and I'm a Yankee fan!
Jon Miller, the Giants' announcer, is better than Vin S.
Best curveball ever. A ton of bricks
There could never be another Vin Scully. The greatest ever, bar none.
The greatest Announcer and Pitcher of all time!
Two of the BEST ever - both Sandy and Vince.
There was class in baseball once, and you just saw it.
Actually amazing when you watch films of Koufax pitching that anyone even fouled a ball!
The remarkable shot of the Dodgers hanging on the dugout railing, looking on rapt, as if they are looking at a superhero come down from Valhalla to pay homage.
Sandy Koufax's talent was Mystical! Greatest Lefty EVER!!!
Love them both. Miss you Dad....
Dodger Stadium The That House Scully and Koufax Built
That brings a tear to my eyes, how touching, both very classy individuals,my mom didn't like Vin Scully because he talked too much, maybe she didn't understand his stories, but what else was he supposed to do,he was paid to talk!!!
havea goodday today
I wish the Dodgers would win the World Series before they pass but the Dodgers so far are chokers smh
They've been a part of many championships, plus, the Dodgers are dirt. Go Giants!
@@ThekiBoran Dodgers ended up winning the World Series.
@@josecarranza7555 You spoke about the Dodgers like they were the cubs of 2015, like they hadn't won a title in 108 years. Skully has seen every dodger title, Koufax was a part of 4 title teams. Your original comment makes no sense
@@ThekiBoran Between 1955-1988 The Dodgers won 6 titles, which not many teams can say that. And after that, it was a long drought. It was nice for the older folks to see the Dodgers win it all again. Also for the younger generation that had not experienced the Dodgers winning the World Series.
@@josecarranza7555 2020 was the first time in 40 years I didn't watch a single pitch of baseball.
Vin Scully taught me to be a baseball fan rather than just a Dodger fan. More importantly he taught me how words and the integrity and beauty of their use could paint pictures, even change lives. I began listening to Mr. Scully in 1958 when I was nine years old. We didn't get to see the Dodgers much on TV but I'm sure he showed me how imagination can trump television. Right there on my cheesy AM radio. Koufax and Scully, the very best by far in their fields. Good men excelled because they were good.
What amazes me about Koufax is everyone who's seen him and seen all the greats from that point to present say he's absolutely the best I'm not going to argue with that. So he would be my pitcher in a 7th game World Series.
Yes. Even on 2 days rest.
@@TheBatugan77 Hard to understand how he was abused in those days ...
ws e.r.a..........8 games ,91
Baby Boomer & lifelong N.Y. YANKEES fan here. Nice tribute to the great Vin Scully by the greatest pitcher I ever saw, Sandy Koufax. As a kid growing up in the very late 50s & 60s I got to see some of the greatest baseball players. If I were starting a baseball team my first pick would be Sandy Koufax. He was the best. And this is from someone whose favourite all time player was the great #7, Mickey Mantle.
I'm also a baby boomer, from Toronto, growing up in an era before we had a major league team. For some reason, I ended up watching the LA Dodgers, specifically Sandy Koufax. When he retired, I lost all interest in baseball until we got the Blue Jays. People of my generation still talk about his refusal to pitch on Yom Kippur. A class act!
Grew up with that voice. There will never be another Vin Scully. A genuine, personal anecdote for every single player.
Sandy’s secret was washing his jock strap every 8 days.
George the failure strikes again.
Human skeletons talking and watching
A special kind of STUPID!!
What a despicable human being you are. Don't you have a mother?
@@wkhan724 Sure he does; she’s on Death Row.
Don't you realize that people get old? With your attitude I doubt you'll live to a ripe old age, your hatred and negativity is going to eat you alive.
👏 Best Loser Troll on TH-cam
i was fortunate to have met vin scully at AT&T now Oracle Park about 4 years ago. I greeted him in the Vin Scully fashion, and i have to tell you, when a man like him calls me "young man", im ok with it. He's the gentlest, kindest caring man i've ever met.
The final home game of Vin Scully's 67 year career.
