She's a nasty 660 now after the rebuild. Haven't had much time to get new vids up though. Pete is in Minnesota, he came here once and rode with a few guys I ride with. I wasn't able to make it though.

Last winter I tore her down and rebuilt it. -686 -11:1 wiseco piston -Stage 2 Hot cam -Port & polish -Monster duals -dyno tune & custom carb mods -elka shocks Thing puts down 50hp and 40 ft-lbs of torque. She hits peak torque at around 2500 rpm and the torque curve stays flat all the way to peak hp. She's a monster now. Ate up some big 3 700's at rhe local hill climb this summer. 😂💪

no, I was up there but my quad was out due to an electrical issue. I completely rebuilt the quad last winter and no longer have the light bar or the magnum bars. So it looks a bit different these days. Hopefully I'll be riding up there this weekend.

@@deepwoodssittin2737 gotcha, there was a couple of guys running the hill. I talked to them an one of them had the same light bar. I just saw the video and was thinking maybe it was you.

@@getoutside8202 I wish. Added about 20HP to the raptor over the winter. She rips up the hill a lot faster this year. 😄 I'll be there this Saturday at some point.

I just had it tuned by a local shop with a dyno. Jetting is a lot smaller than I would have guessed. 152.5 & 155 with a 15 pilot. 686cc, 11:1 piston, stage 2 hotcam, monster duals, port & polish. 50 HP and 40 ft-lbs of try. It has a beautiful flat torque curve, max torque through the whole rpm range. They ended up machining the needles to a custom size and modified the slides as well. She's running great now.

Same here. We put in a lot of miles and always dread seeing it happen. It was all good though, we ended up putting in another 40-50 miles after that.

Yes but I removed it during the rebuild last winter. It worked up there but I'd like to fab up a mount for the front bumper.

I'd say it depends on how much time you spend on the quad. For me, I was one the fence about buying the shocks but decided to splurge..and I am glad I did. I ride pretty often and when I do it's 75-100 miles of trails. Will probably log 2000+ miles this year. The Elka's made a HUGE difference from the YFZ shocks I had on the ride before. Getting rid of the wheel spacers for +2 Albas really helped to. I am way less fatigued at the end of 100 miles than before and can carry so much more speed through the trails. It was a nice compliment to the extra 20+ HP I added to the motor this winter. If you've got the money and you ride A LOT, then I'd say its worth it. Otherwise, it might make more sense to go with something more cost effective like yfz450 shocks.

Yes sir. Of the few thousand miles I prob ridden in that area, this was the first time I ever took the whole east side of the loop down to Lupton from Bull Gap. Great ride, a lot better than the whooped our nightmare that is the west side of the loop along M33. They were out grading these trails the day before, they actually did a decent job. Much better than previous years when all they would do is turn up rocks. Looked like they got some bigger equipment now. Hopefully they hit the west side of the loop soon since thats the trail I take to get to my moms place from mine.

@Kevin_Yagoonie I like them, they seem fairly well built and have plenty of adjustability. The a-arms plus the elka shocks made a huge difference with the added power. Unfortunately the quad is torn apart for another rebuild (bottomed end bearing) but I'd do 100-150miles a day on the trails and enjoyed every minute of it.

Oh yeah, it was a dust fest. Did 70 miles or so today in the same area. Dust wasn't too bad other than a few spots here and there.

Unfortunately just about the whole St Helen portion I had my cam off when I thought it was on. 🤦‍♂️ Missed the whole brake debacle.

I'd love to make it out west. Thankfully we've got plenty of great trails here in Michigan in the meantime! I'm yet to get back out on the trails this year, the raptor has been heavily modified over the last few months. She's just about ready to rip.

I love mine but the platform is a bit long in the tooth. I had the chance to ride a brand new 700 2 years ago and wish I had one. The 660 is definitely a worthy machine but if 700 is an option I would go that route. It's going to be a completely different experience from the 450, the low end torque is nice for lugging around trails.

@@deepwoodssittin2737 cool appreciate the replies! I got buddies with both 700s and 660s and I've rode them both, just hard to see if the extra 1500-2000 a 700 is going to cost will be worth it

@@hunterc282 I have been rebuilding my quad the last couple of months and can say that aftermarket parts for the 660 is reducing. Parts are still available but some of the things are in short supply or a bit inflated in price. Not sure if that is the overall market. Seems the aftermarket for the 700 is more robust, which makes sense for a newer platform.

@@deepwoodssittin2737 thats a fair point, right now 660s in my area are going for like 3500-4500 Canadian and 700s are 5500-8000, would you say they're worth that much extra? Giving everything you know about the 660 now

Yeah, that's true but old habits die hard. Not sure if there is any risk to just banging through the gears without the clutch.

Duuuude. I'd love to go but my Raptor is torn down to the frame and the head is in the machine shop right now. Waiting on a bunch of parts to arrive for it.. Hoping to have her back together by end of April. Should a miracle happen and it's together by then, I'll let you know.

Thanks! The gopro mic sucks for picking up my voice with the HMF making so much noise. I don't have much to say but haha but maybe I'll pick up an aux mic this season. That's if i ever get the raptor put back together. 😂

We're definitely spoiled here in Michigan with the trails we have access to. The Raptor is a 2005.

It's a blast, we are definitely lucky here in Michigan. Some of the best riding for sport quads anywhere in the country. Tons of great trails and we even have some dunes over on lake Michigan at Silver Lake. Where do you ride?

@@deepwoodssittin2737 I'm from Arkansas so there is alot of really rough trails. Ut not much for sport quads everything is made for 4x4 stuff

I've been busy working on the cabin this year so I have missed all of the group rides so far. Not nearly as much riding as I would like, better believe I will be out there putting on some miles this weekend though!

I've barely had the chance to ride this year despite being up there every weekend.

Deep Woods Sittin That sucks man. Hopefully you will be able to get out more often this summer. Bullgap is always on our list for at least a couple rides and we can’t wait. Best 50” trail in the state.
