Once upon a time, in a beautiful forest, there lived a little crow named "Kali." Kali had shiny black feathers and was known for his cleverness. The other animals in the forest admired his intelligence, but he had one habit that often annoyed others: he always kept an eye on their food.
Kali's penchant sometimes got him into trouble. One day, as he sat at the edge of the forest, he noticed a farmer working hard in his field. The farmer's labor had filled the field with a rich harvest.
Kali's eyes sparkled, and he thought, "If I can steal some crops from this farmer's field, it will be very good for me."
Kali realized he had to make a plan. He saw the farmer’s son playing near the field and decided to cunningly divert his attention. He perched on a tree some distance away and started cawing loudly.
The farmer's son heard the noise and came over. As the boy approached, Kali mischievously flew away to another branch, leading the boy on a confusing chase.
Meanwhile, the farmer returned to his field, and Kali seized the opportunity to steal some crops. Kali was thrilled and celebrated his success. However, his joy didn't last long.
He started worrying that the other animals would be upset if they found out about his thievery. So, he decided to share some of the stolen crops with his friends.
The next day, Kali began distributing some of the stolen crops among the other animals in the forest. All the animals praised his generosity. But one day, a clever fox named "Chalaki" noticed that Kali had stolen the crops. Chalaki decided to reveal this secret to all the animals.
She gathered everyone and said, "Did you know that Kali has stolen crops from our fields?" The animals were shocked. Kali realized his cunning had turned against him.
He thought admitting his mistake might lead to forgiveness. Kali confessed his wrongdoing before all the animals, apologized, and promised never to steal again.
The animals forgave him, but reminded him that stealing wasn’t right. Kali pledged to remain honest and began to use his cleverness for good deeds.
One day, however, a formidable vulture came to the forest, threatening the animals if they didn’t provide him food. Observing the fear among the animals, Kali decided to use his wit positively.
He challenged the vulture, "If you're truly powerful, compete with me. If you win, I’ll give you food, but if I win, you must leave this forest." The vulture accepted, amused by the challenge.
Kali led him to a high rocky area, difficult to climb. As the vulture struggled to ascend, Kali mocked him, inciting the vulture to climb higher.
When the vulture reached the top, he was overwhelmed by the watching crowd and fear took over. Realizing defeat, he promised never to return.
The animals rejoiced at Kali’s bravery, regarding him as the hero of the forest. Kali resolved to always care for his friends and use his cleverness for the greater good.
