It would be completely asinine for this team to keep Bunting and Rakell. They’re nowhere near being competitive any time soon. They need draft picks and prospects way more than winning a few extra regular season games.

Yea but another thing like can these scorers play on a 4th checking line? Probably not. And Dubas loves Accari so good luck with that. Those prospects are more top 9 kind of guys I wouldn’t rush them up to try to make them play a grinding role. If someone like Rakel or Bunting go down that’s when you bring one up or Throw Heinen in that spot and put one of them in Heinens spot you know. They aren’t penalty killer kind of guys. Bemstrom is better than most of those NHL guys you named tho. Not sure why he isn’t there over Omama or Pullijarvi.

Why are we glazing the Pens for beating a team worse than them?

This team is going to finish 11-15th in the league, miss the playoffs and also miss out on a much better pick.

I love Rust but he absolutely should waive his NTC. Waive it for somewhere he'd be interested in going or get traded to the highest bidder in the off-season. It makes zero sense to not trade Rust when his stock is still high. Is Koivunen supposed to make the team next year playing with Kevin Hayes?

As far as I'm concerned--if you number isn't 87 or 67, you should consider yourself on the chopping block

We have all these picks that we could flip for young players. That are in the NHL and can help this team. Dubas has had some flaws but man he is cooking recently. I think with Murashov, Koivunen, McGroarty maybe Fernström and good Picks, there are promising Prospects for the Future! I'm not sure Dubas will make a Surprise Trade at the End?!

Pens get 30 draft picks in the next two years and had 27 in the last 5. The big 3 are not going to play forever.

Going the way of Toronto . Keep trading away the D - men for more Forwards that do nothing . Pens will trade away the 1st Round for another 35 year old as they did in the past . And they pick up former Pens that they didn't like before . SMH .

Seriously, Rutherford should never been extended, and his outspoken plans following the SC-championships was dumb, and the execution way worse. I mean, Hörnqvist and Kessel could probably have done a lot better than many who followed. And Hextall... Even so, the biggest problems are: 1. Erik Karlsson 2. Tristan Jarry 3. Adam Graves ... and those are on Dubas. He had two worthless GM predecessors tanking the franchise, and he still managed to make things worse.

Penguins get a 1st+prospect and 2 depth guys for 2 UFA. Great deal by Dubas Vancouver is crazy basically they got Pettersson+Chytil+OConnor for Miller.

Canuck fan here. Vinny D is terrible, if he’s in your lineup you are in trouble.

I honestly like this trade. DOC has been having a rough year and Heinen can be a leader. Desharnais is a class defender and still has room to grow. I 100% believe we won this trade.

Honestly a great trade. The rebuild could be incredibly prosperous, especially with how well the Baby Penguins have been playing. The future is incredibly bright.

We received a top 13 pick, a prospect who went beginning of 3rd round, a huge tough defenseman, and Heinen for Petterson and O'Connor.....not too bad!!! Thank you Dubas!! Now, depending on where we end up we could have 2- top 10 picks guys! Its time to bring up a couple players from Wilkes!!!

Bad take bro. Petterson is a pending UFA and we managed to get a first round pick for him. The rangers are currently a middle of the pack team, so that pick might result in a top prospect. Drew O’Connor is in the middle of his worst season as a Penguin. In return we get a decent prospect, and a big defensemen and the former mentioned first round pick. Not a bad trade at all. Far from a fleece.

Drew O'Connor is not a good player. He had 1 good season. He plays a soft game for his size. Doesn't have hands and doesn't score much at all. He does hustle that's about it.

O'Connor can do everything but score goals.. A player like him is a dime a dozen. I like the trade, a 1st is a nice score for UFA's

I love Heinen he’s only 29 he’ll be great. You don’t remember when zucker went out and Heinen played great on the 2nd line? Crazy he’s more productive than DOC. Even tho I would’ve rather kept DOC that 1st round pick is what this whole deal is about POJ will play in Pettersons spot and who know what this new defenseman will do for us Vinny D

Oilers fan here. Desharnais is a class act. Treat him right, and he will be a leading defenceman. Don't judge him by what went in in Vancouver. That was a circus. I'd have him and Kostin back in a heartbeat. 💓

Desharnais is trash.... Doesn't hit that much, makes mistakes every game, and doesn't dominate physically....not really a fighter considering his colossal girth.
