Brilliantly explained, Mr President!

Good afternoon from Auckland, New Zealand Mr. President. Thank you for the coverage of the new club rooms at Norman Park, it is great to see the progress. I do view the Norman Park website periodically but still photos do not show the progress as much as your short video. I look forward to seeing further progress reports. I think that the move to Norman Park showed great foresight and I look forward to visiting the club in 2024 when Chris and I will be in the UK during March/April as we have booked a cruise to Norway to see the Northern Lights from 16th March. We hope to catch up with as many old friends such as the Baldwin's, Richardson's, Chris Haines and Alison Brand et al while we are in the UK. Pity it is still 20 months away but it gives us something to look forward to. It is great to feel a part of our club via the video coverage on President's News. Best wishes, Rod & Chris Barker

Very belated Good Evening to our new President

Good afternoon (in New Zealand) Mr. President, That was a really good first presentation of Presidents News. I really enjoyed watching and listening to all the news. It was also great to see such lovely shots of some of my long time friends at the club, namely Margaret & John Baldwin, Chris Haines, Dave White and Mike Peel. We are in regular email contact with Dave & the Baldwins and also Alison Brand so they also keep us in the loop with current events as much as possible but this really is such an excellent platform to enjoy the Blackheath atmosphere. Good evening Mr. President, Congratulations Nic, well done and thank you for completing a wonderful 2 years as president in such trying and difficult times. Chris and I so enjoyed all your news items but none more so than last evenings version. You really have managed to keep us informed of progress of and within the club and for us residing in New Zealand it has kept us aware of all the news of my lifetime athletic club. What a fabulous Presidents News at the final time at the clubhouse that holds so many memories for me personally. I so enjoyed the history reading by John Turner culminating in the Club cry and the sung portion by the President. You were very brave Nic. I looked out for faces that I would recognise but was unsuccessful but I am sure some of my old friends were present. I am looking forward to progress on the Norman Park development and hopefully, one day Chris and I will get to see it. Hi Nic, once again I have enjoyed listening to your weekly report. It was particularly pleasing this week as you mentioned Alan Stevens and me during your talk. You guys looked so cold all wrapped up in multi layers as summer approaches. Our season is also changing with one more month of Autumn before we head into winter. At 19 C here in Auckland it was certainly warmer than you experienced today. I keep an eye on the London weather as my sister lives in Hayes so I am interested in the comparisons. We do hope you will soon be able to meet without social distancing although it does seem that the athletes competing on the track did not have to be distanced from each other. I have enjoyed watching the Norman Park T & F meetings. Keep them going. It was good to see Margaret & John Baldwin present during last weeks Presidents report. They have quite a distance to travel to reach the club. Regards, Rod Barker

Hi, when will the videos be uploaded from yesterday's races?

Hi Nic, It was great to see you completing last weeks presentation from the bar at the club rooms. I have spent many enjoyable hours in the lounge/bar area over the years I was competing at the 'Heath. I particularly remember that Ian Wilson and I shared a joint 21st birthday party at the club as our birthdays were only 8 days apart. We shared it with Roy Candy from Kent AC as his 21st was between Ian & mine. We did our own catering, leastwise Chris, my then girlfriend and now wife did!! Ian's girlfriend of the time and Ian had an argument that day so there was no added help. But we had a fantastic party. There have been many great nights there since but as Chris and I emigrated to New Zealand nearly 48 years ago we have only had limited time at the club since 1973. Hope you guys will be able to enjoy more time there before the final move to Norman Park. Keep up the great presentations Kind regards, Rod Barker

Great to see the latest TH-cam report from the President from Canary Wharf. The location brings back wonderful memories of the area during our trips back to UK for the Olympics and World Athletic Champs staged at the Olympic Park in Stratford. It was at the latter where we bumped into John & Margaret Baldwin in the Westfield Mall before one of the meetings. Keep up the great work Nic, your presentations are really good and informative. Good day from Auckland, NZ. I have really enjoyed watching the TH-cam and Instagram messages since learning of the site a couple of weeks ago. Thank you Mr. President for mentioning that Chris and I are avid watchers of the athletics from Norman Park and the Presidents News each Wednesday. Last evenings report was particularly poignant for us as we are very good friends of Alison & Colin Brand and and it was wonderful to hear the Blackheath call at the conclusion of your report. We have spent time at their houses in UK and they have stayed with us here in Auckland during their trips to New Zealand. I watched all 5 Instagram videos from Norman Park but it had to be in stages due to the length of the recordings. I have also watched the AGM conference Zoom meeting.
