Please Google the name of Martin Spaink. He was a European who worked for 30 years to prove the superiority of the real, live Tanpura over other ways of producing the badly named "drone" sounds. Spaink has written articles about the scientific and aesthetic aspects of harmonics production. He often accompanied many Dhrupad singers during their tours in Europe. The so-called "drone" sounds should be called by their true, sacred name -- Svayambhoo svara-s. Nature-created harmonics. Without them Indian music cannot be what it is supposed to be. I hope I am not offending the supporters of devices other than REAL LIVE TANPURA-s. We have to remember that in English "to drone on" has become a negative word maybe partially because it is not in the nature of European music to have an unchanging AdhAr Shadja supported by the svayambhoo svara-s.

Exquisitely presented. So melodious ! Might be having a flavour different from the Marathi Natyasangeet, but, otherwise beyond any words. Excellent. I got chance to hear you for the first time as I came across this recording while browsing and hearing this song from a host of other artistes like the legendary Pandit Bhimsen Ji, Rahul Deshpande, Ananda Bhate, Ramdas Kamat and many others. Your rendition is distinguished and mesmerising.
