I love the backlit effect your created. Do you use a reference photo at all? Or just your imagination? I'm sorry if I've asked that question before...I can't remember if I did or not.
Thank you! Yes I always use a reference photo, sometimes I use a few different ones depending on what I want the painting to look like - for example one for the rough outline of the face, and another to see how the lighting would work 🥰

Hi, how do you ensure the painting doesn’t crack when rolled?
If it’s an acrylic painting then make sure you roll it with the painting facing outwards. Acrylic paint has a bit of a stretch to it so it shouldn’t crack, but this way if it does crack, the cracks will fold back together when you unroll the painting 😊

@@RachelFroudArt I have 13 wild roof rats that were hand raised from babies. They are tame, I can pet them, cuddle them, and they are so smart and loving. I’d be in heaven to be able to learn to paint rats in detail . I’ve seen a tutorial but the person made it look like a mouse. I can send you reference photos too if you need any. I’d just be in heaven! Then I could go on and paint my rats once I learned the general format!!
