Yep he did the video 9 years ago…thanks for the reminder no one shows this.
Make one yourself. So simple.
@@johnbrett9929 the time to make one is more than the 20 dollars to buy a product that is professionally made. But I don't have skills.
@TheMccluref O.K. anyway happy hiking and God bless
“Fits my personality. Minimal.” 😂
Nice. I’ll get me one.
I think you will be happy with it
Excellent piece of gear.
Thanks. Just need the basics.
Good tips. Can't be safe enough for drinking water. Love the safety kit.
That's awesome. Thanks
Wish I was there. Oh wait I was. Hey, he's a pretty good whistler. Lol
I said you were a virtuoso
Cool trick but video should have been 10 seconds tops we don't need your fkn life story
Thank you for giving props to outdoor review! And thanks for spreading this amazing tip!
Luke deserves a lot of credit. I learned quite a bit from him. Thanks for watching
Thank you...
You have a gift. You are so long winded that felt like for ever and i cant even bare to re watch to see if you called the middle of the tarp edge corners.
The mesh insert is cool!
@@MetroOnTheMove thanks. I have some mitten hooks on order so I can pull the mesh away a little bit. It’s going to be like a double wall when I finish with it. It’s a nice tarp. It definitely is my mentality
Thanks Get to it
That entrance to the trail was the old one. Never the left it will get you there. You need the mesh in the summertime due to insects.
I get lost leaving the parking lot.
Great minimalist tarp! Glad this worked out with all of your gear. You should bring this on your PMT or Foothills Trail Thru!
@@MetroOnTheMove I have no issues on a short hike but the foothills trail I might want a bigger tarp. I can see this being a good item for philippine hiking where I might not have any trees
Nice review Fred
@@SeniorHiker77 thanks
Are you going to use it this weekend? Hope you get the poles soon. OK you gotten
Yes. I fixed it so it should be good for this weekend. Was easier than I thought it would be
Porta potty reviews still kickin #portapotty
Awesome scenery. Nice outing with the family.
We had a great time. This place is great for day hiking. Unfortunately they don’t like fires here.
This looks like a great shelter! Im currently using the 'Rab : Ridge Raider' and I'm tempted with the new version of the Three-Wire bivi... but the new version just does not look as cool as this one in my opinion
I am not a fan of the new design. I like the zipper going almost all the way down it seems the new one doesn't. That said I don't think you can go wrong with it. I use mine all the time. I don't know if the new version will be as nice in warm weather as mine since it doesn't expose as much mesh as the old version. With mine I can expose almost my entire body and enjoy the breeze. I was looking at the borah gear bivy for lighter weight trips myself.
@@TheMccluref I think the newest version zips down on both sides, and it has a single hooped hood area. I just prefer the idea of the slightly dome shaped hood on your version to open the vent even in light rain. The new version does open up a HUGE vent at the head end, it just wouldn't be as useable unless it was basically a dry night. I've not seen the Bora gear bivi, I don't think we get it that brand over in England (edit : I see what you mean, having the mesh open up above would actually be great to allow heat to escape on a warm night. Good point)
Nice outing wife to your wife.
Thanks. We had a good time
Great tip Fred. I use them often. Also works great on a tarp. 🦉
Cool tent! Thanks again for your help with the shuttle for this trip. Appreciate ya!
Great video. I came over from senior hiker. I hear ya on the gloves. Great set up. Yes I hear ya on the meals too.
Hey Fred, I just saw you mentioned on Senior Hiker 77’s last video. John and I are friends and hiking buddies. Always good to support a fellow TH-camr. All the best!
Thanks
Metro was very appreciative of your shuttle service.
Glad I could help. Any time I can provide assistance I will
Now I know who inspired Senior Hiker 77 with his knot video! See ya soon!
Certainly enjoyed camping with you. Let's do it again sometime.
Glad I left the serial killer catagory. Lol
Wow. Sorry you weren't prepared. I try to be prepared for rain and cool weather. I don't succeed but try
It was my fault. I thought I was going to stay at the huts. I was just glad it was not busy season. I never expected I would get stuck. I plan for that now I always bring warm clothes in a dry bag. I was not thinking about anything other than I was going for a walk. Lol
Just ordered mine the 9.5" for my dig dig tool.
I put the trowel in a sea to summit tent stake bag to keep it from poking a hole in the poop bag. It also helps keep the dirt out of the poop bag
Thanks for inviting me to your campsite.
Anytime you want to crash at my camp you can
Was a trip to see those guys with the AR-15 walking by
Was great to meet you my friend! Thanks for letting me crash your campsite!
Looks like you all ready for your overnighter.
Yeah tomorrow is busy so I will just throw everything in my jeep and not worry My wife and I compete for the same resource , my free time. I need to do stuff when I get the chance
Magnificent piece! Good luck on trail
Thanks,
Nice tip! Thanks for sharing!
Happiest day for a lot of people. Not easy to get there but it looks like AF OTS has changed. Maybe not for the better. That is a lot of new LTs.
Okay
I don’t get why it’s so competitive to get it, they can’t match very well. But I still respect them a lot.
BMT graduates are definitely more in step than this 😮
Sassafras is no joke! Love this section of the AT in Georgia!
Poncho liner = Woobie. A must have for me,
I bring it on all day hikes. Just to be safe
That quick draw is Senior Hiker 77 new favorite water filter. Works great!
I like it. I normally soak it in distilled water the day before I take off. I will be using it this Saturday at beech bottom campsite

How do you like that NEMO pad? Any issues?
I love it. I would replace it immediately if I lost it.
Beech Bottom? One of the best campsites on the PMT!!
nice weather...
I think you were at beach bottom campsite. Maybe not because I saw my truck in the mollyhugger parking lot. Lol
I was at beech bottom campsite. I like the 6 mile walk in and then the short walk out. I will change it up a little next year but I have a reservation each month there until April I think.
