Your User Stories Are Too Big with Chris Sims
มุมมอง 777 หลายเดือนก่อน
Product owners often struggle to translate their big ideas into small user stories that the team can deliver in a sprint. When a user story is too big, it is harder to understand, estimate, and implement successfully. Some teams break the ‘business story’ into ‘technical stories’ but this doesn’t solve the problem because most or all of the technical stories need to be completed before there is...

31:45 - Innovation through Exaptation - you need to monitor the side effects, those lead to the discoveries (and single purpose goals blinds us to that) 39:15 - Build informal networks - work together on problems, build trust based relationships going through hard times - decisions usually taken on informal networks

Noting that whilst you might increase the likeihood of doing something useful, you can't guarantee it. As with every method, it relies on people.

Thank you for the great content! I recognized many of the tactics I found useful as well. Few additional things from my side: - When working with first-time managers I support them in navigating and making sense of their role and responsibilities. Also, provide some reassurance and validate their thinking on the role (via 1on1 discussions, feedback, and reflections). - When working with L3, I often find it useful to go to them for alignment - get their feedback if the things I'm working on align with their goals and if there are additional inputs I should take into consideration to move the organization to the intended direction more effectively.
