The 1812th Overture was the track used in Australian Army recruiting in the 1980s(?) maybe 1990s. It always gets my heart going. I was also lucky enough to see it played at an Australian Army Tattoo when I was a kid - I think the the Queen visited and that was played with artillery. I think I read it was written to include a carrillion - I'd love to see it with a carillion AND artillery. Never fails to get my heart going.
Excellent
los cañones tienen que estar hermoso la retirada del enemigo
да здравствует Россия da zdravstvuyet Rossiya ("Long live Russia!") -- For Tchaikovsky

This literally sounds like a battle with the 1812 overture being played over it.
You have to have artillery to play this piece properly.
3:36 The best part begins…
6:18 Even the camera went deaf in the right ear. 🤣🤣
I can just imagine a Steve Harvey reaction when someone asks "what instrument do you play?" and they respond "the Howitzer!"
MADE IN USA ALWAYS POWERFUL N BEAUTIFUL
As a kid about 93 I think it was.... Was the first time I remember hearing this song and yes they had cannons to for the 4th of July!
"What instrument did you play timmy?" "I played the 105mm howitzer"
They knocked it out of the park! Well timed.
Classical heavy metal meets heavy ordinance
Aim those bad boys at Putin. Slava Ukraini!
They play and sing Russian empire anthem bozo
GOD BLESS THE FUCKIN US OF A, HAPPY 4TH OF JULY AMERICA!!
But why do you play a patriotic piece of Russian music, which has nothing to do with the USA, on 4th July?
I'm curious if the artillery soldiers are musicians. Are they required to have the kind of timing that precussionists have?
No. The guy in the white dinner jacket with the headphones is a musician with the Boston Pops. He’s following the score and cuing the officer on the rear right to give the command to fire.
Americans playing a song about the French in Russia, truly multi-cultural!
Would someone tell those loudmouths to shut the f up?
Imagine attending this and wondering why the French national anthem is playing
That guy clutched so by giving that ammo on time for the final blast!
I just absolutely love the fact that the US Army has been playing this part since the Cold War in a melody meant to celebrate the victory of the Russian army over the (by then) greatest army in the World.
My mom would play this, full volume, Saturday mornings to get us up. Saturday was house cleaning day.😊
Gog bless America! Greetings from Russia!!!
Congratulations from Russia my Boston brothers! Thx for perfect show you ☺️
"What kind of musical instrument do you play...?"
ROUNDS COMPLETE!
Bien perrona bravo
Brings to mind Longstreet at Gettysburg :"Did you not have enough ordinance when this was begun!?"
Tribute to the discipline of the soldiers they got the "bangs" in time to the music.
I am from Uruguay. Some decades ago this famous '1812' piece was played outdoors at the Golf Club here in Montevideo, and the artillery parts were overwhelming ! The orchestra was our National Symphony Orchestra conducted by Piero Gamba. The soldiers wore the original uniforms !
What a great save at the end...seconds to spare and finished with a bang.
the last gunner was alright, seemed on point, the other two fired too soon. Probably nerves.
We’ll, The last salvo isn’t actually in the score. It’s been added on in recent days for that last flourish because people love the cannons. So the timing of it is kinda up for interpretation.
Las armas solo deberían servir para esto.
