Can I ask how do you get that back out of the jar once it's canned?
@@patriciabyers1747 I did make a video on how to slice it out of the can. You should be able to find it on my channel.
My pie filling seems to have bubble spots through the jars. How do you resolve this or let it go? Thank you, I enjoyed the video.
I guess I never really paid any attention to bubble spots. Do those spots appear before you can it or after you have canned it?
@@HomesteadingMadeEasy101 I try my best to de-bubble before canning but the bubbles show up after the processing time.
@@susankeriacos2892I have been canning for over 30 years. I never knew there was something as de- bubble till I joined some canning groups. As long as they seal and stay sealed I am good to go.😂
Perfect , thank you.
This video will help many families if times get really challenging. Im retired and enjoy finding good buys on meat and doing this. Thank you for showing us how its done.
That is my goal. To share what I have learned over the years with other people. So they can learn how to prepare food for themselves and their families.
@HomesteadingMadeEasy101 The one most important thing I believe is people who get laid off from work or my be headed for hard times need to learn this just to be able to save on their grocery bills, it's far less cost to buy primal cuts of beef / pork and make jars of bologn. Making homemade bread will drastically cut down on expensive ( not good quality) bread at the store. Instead of getting depressed about not working one can get busy working to provide quality nutritional food. It starts long before hard time hit you have to invest in a canner, jars. For people looking for a meat grinder for starters Harbor freight has them for $50.00 and they work ok but I'm going to get one like yours. Can you let us know what brand is your meat grinder?
@@stevethomas5209 I tried sending some pictures. But it isn't let me do that. It is a "Cabela's Commercial Grade" 1hp commercial meat grinder-#22 Model:#21-05-0300 SKU# 2834861 Hope this helps!
Omg that’s terrible! There’s so many HUMANE ways to do this!
@@Puddingcup110 that is very possible. This is what I have available for me. Each one can do what is available for them.
What is “Crinder”
@@Puddingcup110 coriander is a spice. I believe you can get coriander seed or ground coriander. I use the ground coriander.
@@HomesteadingMadeEasy101 Omg! I’m sorry hahaha
❤❤❤😊
We've always wanted to try making ketchup.
Try it! This recipe is very easy. Just takes a lot of tomatoes 😂 Especially if you use a lot of ketchup.
hello, in my home sauerkraut, or kapusta kiszona as it's named in poland, was made for nearly 60 years, and a few tips my family learned during these years stoneware or barrell is far better than plastic container, because sometimes you can taste the plastic, because of acids you don't need to 👊 cabbage, you can leave it freely, put a smaller lid than container, and put a big rock in plastic wrap on the lid - weight will do it all right every few days, you take out excessive water add a few slim chopped carrots - you'll love the taste salt - 1kg for 100l barrell, you just chop the cabbage, put in a container, sprinkle with salt, repeat it's faster for me, and it's great every time Great video! <3
@@panzerdivision666 thank you for the tips. I don't like to use plastic either if I don't have to. My husband makes wine in those glass containers. So I decided to use that instead of the plastic pails.
a couple of things to note 1) use non-iodized salt for your cabbage Iodine can hamper the probiotic bacteria and discolor your ferment and 2) if you are going to use bags of water for your weights make sure the water in the bags is a Brine Solution of about 1 Tablespoon of salt to 4 cups of water, that way if the bags begin to leak the water from the bags wont dilute your Kraut Brine and ruin all your hard work.
Wow! Carol you just amaze me with each and every video you post dear!!! Is there anything you can’t do? I think not! Those all look so healthy and yummy…🏆👏🏼😋 Thanks for the step by step here.. brings me back to my youth on Grandmas farm.
I learned a lot in the culture I grew up in. So grateful for that part of my Amish life. Lol
Beautiful job a couple suggestions...remove your loaves from the pans immediately when baked set them across the pans to cool brush the tops with shortening and cover with tea towels this helps keep the crusts soft
Put the dough in your oven and cover it turn on your oven light...works well especially if your house is a bit drafty
Thanks for the video! Gotta give it a try soon.
Thank you for not writing it as "baloney".
who in the hell eats that much bologna
We do😂 When I have canned bologna I don't have to buy any lunch meat for sandwiches.
she cans it. it will last at least 2 years in the jars. it will feed her family for a long time. What do you think people used to do before there were supermarkets? They canned and pickled and preserved everything.
@@patty5023I still do! Cuts down on grocery bills!
Do you have a video after canning, When you open a jar and slice it? 😁
I thought of that. I can make one. It does take some practice on getting it cut and out of the can in one piece.
Just subscribed! Never thought about homemade bologna
Hey, cousin Carol ... That's awesome.. where's mine ?? Hahaha
I away wondered how they made grape nut cereal! In the past when I saw grape nut, it made me think of grape seeds- you know those crunchy grape seeds. lol
Not sure how someone came up with the name grape nuts! It doesn't have anything to do with grapes. Lol!
Wow! You really do make this all so easy when it seems intimidating for many of us contemplating doing our own homesteading!

Wowwww looks so good delicious
Thanks Carol! This seems easy enough for sure. I’m wondering about using other types of flour, like gluten free types, do you think that could work?
You can try it. Maybe make 1/4 batch to experiment with it. That is what I would do.
@@HomesteadingMadeEasy101 Thank you! That's what I'll try and come back here to post the outcome.
I'm so inspired by your videos! You make this so very easy and simplify it all so it's not intimidating!
Yummy!❤
Seriously the BEST granola!
I normally don’t like coconut in a lot of my foods, but this granola is sooo good that I didn’t even mind it in there! Thank you so much Carol!
We just did a video on this. Your method is so cool
Thank you!
Hi. Where do you buy your wine bags?
Good day! We get our wine bags from Sunrise Metal Shop Topeka, Indiana. You can google them to get a phone number if you need it.
Note: 1-1/2" - 1-3/4" is correct depth for bore.
Thank you Carol!! How interesting and easy you made that for me to understand! Wow! I do have one question how much do you typically yield out of a batch, in this video for instance 20 gallons of sap would equal how much maple syrup?
Approximately 2 1/2 quarts of maple syrup.
What an awesome video!! Straight forward and clear simple instruction.. love the way she brings us through it as if we’re right there with her step by step. Using what we have already at home! Thank you Carol! Looking forward to more from you👍🏼👩🍳
