Beer keg type A de-pressurise and coupling/valve removal QUICKEST WAY
Removing the pressure is fairly straight forward, the main focus on the video is how to remove the type A coupling and how it works as its not as obvious. There's a few different methods/tools people use, this is the quickest and easiest way I've found.

Turn the sound up and treat your ears to the sound track of the jet kart in all its afterburning glory! Test day 3 was a success. The oil drain relocation, oil suction baffle and catch can fab and fitment worked a treat. There’s a few more improvements to make until the next outing, thanks for watching!
Jet kart first afterburner test

Testing the afterburner for the first time. Making all the right noises 👌🏻 it only worked the first few times, after that the hot surface igniter burned up and stopped working. This was only a temporary solution whilst I wait for a high voltage spark generator to arrive which in conjunction with a spark plug should be more reliable. Stay tuned!

It runs!!! Unedited footage of today’s first fire up. There was some trial and error with how much air impingement to give it which I’ve figured out now. There’s a few issues to work through before it’s ready to go down the street. Stay tuned!
Jet kart bypass blocked PWM throttle test

HC5A jet kart throttle testing using a 14gph variflo bypass nozzle. In this test I had the bypass blocked and was using a PWM controller connected to a Hall effect foot throttle to control motor speed.

Kawasaki ultra 300x engine surging problem. Fuel pump was faulty. Changed it out and fuel pressure held relatively stable at 40 psi

      It’s hard to narrow anything down with a very broad description of no acceleration. What do you hear? What do you feel? Do the revs hunt around? What’s the boost doing? Does it show boost on the gauge? If so what boost is it? What max rpm are you getting whilst the throttle is pinned in the water? What rpm will the engine rev to on the trailer? Is the ski regularly serviced? How many hours? Has it had a pump rebuild? What have you checked so far?

    I have a customers 2009, SC went out last season, found a donor ski with 120 HRs and luckily that SC had been serviced. However, after all that work, swapping the coolers from contamination, water testing on the trailer seemed fine. Never rode it, let the customer have it, and it's falling on its face when calling for full throttle, lean studdering, and then starts to stall, but comes back to smooth idle, I am thinking the same thing on it. These things LOVE fuel!!!

      After pretty much checking everything the last thing i did was this fuel pressure test. Should have done it earlier to be honest. As soon as i did it, it was blatantly obvious the fuel pump was bad

      Afterburner exit is 115mm in diameter

    hi, my ultra lx are not reaching full potential with full throttle the ski does not go over 30mph, i just installed a new jet pump, new spark plugs , engine 140 psi gas pump 40 psi running. do you know what that culd possibly be ?

      sorry for the late reply, may seem obvious but make sure you're using the FPO key, inspect the exhaust filter- they are known to dislodged, get stuck in the waterbox and restrict exhaust flow. How many hours on the ski? You could check fuel pressure like i did- put a gauge inline and go for a ride whilst watching it.

    What ended up being the issue? Is the power cutting in and out... not reaching full potential with full throttle?

      The issue was a faulty fuel pump. Free revving it out of the water on the hose was fine, as soon as it was in the water under load, it would surge and only reach half or slightly more revs. Swapped out the whole fuel pump assembly and it was good as new.

    That is an amazing machine can't wait to see the driving video. I have been thinking about making a Turbo jet engine for a postie bike so can you do a video run down of the setup? or a write up of the design and parts used especially for fuel supply and ignition please.

    Nice job on the throttle, lets see the pump and electric motor, what pressures are you hoping to get?

      Cheers, I’ll do a walk around video soon and explain the setup. I’m running 380psi which is the max the pump gets to on 12v with the size of the nozzle currently fitted. It’s a 24v pump so should I need more flow/pressure I’ll bump the voltage up. Will be able to get around 1000+psi then

      Hey sorry for the late reply, it was a bad fuel pump. One of my other videos shows me testing the fuel pressure and what it was doing when faulting.

      Hey wondering if you could help, I am having same issues. Just replaced fuel pump no change. Replace spark plugs, cleaned intercooler. I am at a loss

      @chuckyb1010 have you recently lubed the tensioner assembly? A slipping belt is a common result. Also if there’s water in the hull it can slosh up and cause the belt to slip. Are you sure you’re now getting full fuel pressure (or almost) under load?
