New subscriber here. Fantastic video. I just changed the starter on my GT18. I had to look for a while to find one that fit. I did not even realize I could have bought the ring and starter gear . Thank you for sharing the video.
Glad to hear from you. I am beginning to believe DIY is dead.
@@Awesomediy7 I know what you mean but no way. There is still lots of us out here repairing and building our own stuff. I have been assembling a small machine shop to support my new TH-cam channel that will be started as soon as I am able. I am building a 1928 Morgan/MG special hillclimb race car. (3 wheeler with 4 wheels)....
One of Michigan's forgotten places. Close to Mystique, a small town in the Upper Penn.
I am now 76, the roof looks great, no problems. Wish I held up like they are.
These starter gears fail often, but do not usually lock up the flywheel.
Briggs throttle linkage also closes the Choke. A hairline spring returns it to open, or it should.
23 hp Briggs, V Twin. Diode failing.
Put a shield (tilted) across the front to deflect wind gusts from flipping panels up or stress cracking them up when driving 👍✌️
So far, so good. Tested up to 80 mph. Thanks for watching.
@@Awesomediy7 80 going south and passed close by a tractor trailer doing 80 going north?🤔
That would test it.
Thumbs up for the shocking intro. … 😂
That was an accident. Had to share it. thanks for watching.
Job well done, Sir! A sincere question to you - was there no one around who would help?
Actually I could have asked my son in laws, but I wanted to do it at my own pace. Most everyone has a pretty busy life but me. Thanks for watching.
@@Awesomediy7 Well I'll tell you, if I was a son-in-law, I would have enjoyed working with you. I helped my dad roof our house once and it was a great deal of fun. Altogether, great job. :)
