I had this happen on this banner. I set my path for Chioris weapon. Do one tenpull on banner. It turns gold. I was maybe on 20-40 pity(don’t remember) and it was Xilonens weapon. I have no geo sword characters nor do I plan on pulling any geo sword characters 😐 And what sucks even more is I’ve been in a two banner battle with staff of homa and next phase is hutao and Nahida. And I REALLY want Nahida. I could get stuff so much easier and I could set up good hyperbloom teams. Meaning I now get to save both for Nahida (I’m at maybe 10-20 pity on a 50/50) and try once more for staff of homa. I just wanted to get kachinas weapon from the weapon banner ;-;

It's dead for me if you need stamina to play the game. Got so annoyed with games like that in the past. Having to metagame stamina usage is not fun. The combat looks rather sad too. 😢 I'm really wondering why they're making combat less interesting after Genshin, and Genshin's combat is only decent, not fantastic. (Which is fine because it's not a combat focused game)

everyone is entitled to their own opinion but i feel like it is rude at best to say that in its current state it is bad just because you only like combat. if you want that you can play honkai impact 3. thats just combat which makes it super boring for me. reason being that 'skill' in mihoyo games has never been a large component in getting better. as long as you know the right combo and have the right equipment, 90% of the times its more of landing combos than any real precision, timing and positioning. nothing is inherently hardcore besides the grind for materials or status. ZZZ is so much more than that. i think style and story is what makes this game so good. and most of all it appeals to the CASUAL gamer. i like everything from dumb snake mini games to box pushing games to brainless flashy hack and slash. wrapped up with a cool story and cute characters, it is genuinely the perfect game for casuals like me. i AM in the beta and im enjoying everyday of it. theres just a vibe that can be felt. just loading in and playing the first hour, it felt like a real game, real story. i went in with low expectations but honestly i would put it up there with persona 4. never played persona 5 so i cant say. obviously persona 4 wasnt a hack and slash but the style and heavy story telling elements has many parallels to this game. considering this is a F2P game, i think theres really nothing to complain about which was what led me to be curious why anyone would say its not looking good. it just doesn't look good to you because its not a game for you. im not gonna say chess is a flawed game because the environment design is plain right? you're missing the whole point of the game. it still has your typical hoyo game staples like abyss and equipment and gacha systems are exactly the same as in starrail and genshin. i genuinely feel like the game youre hoping this would become already exists in honkai impact. ZZZ is all about the mishmash of retro gaming, puzzles and styliish characters. throw in a bit of fighting to keep things lively. you are sorely wrong to think that this is to appeal to souls fans. if you like it great! but you're obviously not the target audience so dont say its missing stuff or bad or has lost of filler just cos you dont like it. but seriously, just play honkai impact. thats about as 'hardcore' combat wise as mihoyo will go in the foreseeable future. if thats not good enough, then too bad. go play sekiro or something.

One thing I think you are wrong is that Mihoyo's (or Hoyoverse's) biggest target player base is always people who love their characters. Everything else has to play around it. This game, by the developer's description, is a story-driven roguelike action game, so "action" is been placed in the fourth important lol

I was excited for this game. But the more I see of it, the less I am. I don't think there will be enough stimulation from the combat to last long enough. Like you say Chiosenpai, they would need to add an ENDLESS Mode asap, or at the start. But let's face it, Hoyoverse wouldn't, because it would bring controversy in the community of it perhaps being P2W afterwards. Because they would need to put in a score board to make sense of it, like they have in PGR, and it works REALLY well in PGR although some players complain, but Hoyoverse want everyone to love them neutrally so I doubt it. In Honkai Star-rail, I was spamming that rogue-like mode (simulated universe) because it was literally the only thing you had left to do that gave you difficulty after the ez story. So, there is a CHANCE they will add some sort of mode to keep the player base busy after the essence is used up etc. But an ENDLESS Mode? I wish... but I doubt it. I hope they prove me wrong, and I hope that this game will be a real treat when it comes out! I'm keeping my expectations low, because I know how much money it takes to have REAL fun in their games.

i have beta access and I do agree that moving tv mode is very annoying, i just want more ACTIONNN! that battle system is just god tier, I really want more of that and less of moving boxes.

It sounds like some kind of bullshit. You are talking about a messy UI, while showing, literally, a single picture that refers to a particular game menu. Which tries to imitate the "social network" menu or something like that. One single menu is not equivalent to the fact that in the whole game the menu is built exactly the same.

Hm. Fair enough, though if I decided to try to build a roguelike with an online gacha model, I'd be doing it about like this. Primary focus has to be the story, characters and noncombat portion of the game, because that's what'll sell the gacha provided I don't want to be the kind of developer using powercreep to shut out anybody who hasn't spent recently. If I'm going this cross-platform (so careful with hardware resources) and somewhat character agnostic, while there's still room for flexibility in the combat it'll have to be handled very carefully and too much depth at any time is to be avoided. From personal experience, the greatest risk here is it requiring enough effort for somebody who's stopped playing to relearn how to play they just choose to not ever check in again. There probably are some problems with the gameplay loop beyond its novelty to those not expecting a roguelike and testers much going harder in their limited time than was intended for players after it comes out, but I can't comment in detail there either for the same reason: while I'll try to play this when it comes out, I wouldn't be surprised if my old laptop simply can't handle it and I can't afford to try to get new hardware this year either... so I didn't even try to get in.
