It never ceases to amaze me that every time I see video or news photos of an airplane accident scene around the early to mid 70s especially and apparently just after the crash, judt how many people are trampling around among the wreckage interfering and/or contaminating the scene and/or evidence. I've always seen tons of iniformed police, fire and rescue mixed among tons of people that looks like they're airport office workers or hangar personnel on their lunch break and other assorted odd characters kicking things around as they walk. And it's alwsys abundantly clear the NTSB guys and gals haven't even gotten on the scene yet, which again tells me how fresh the accident is. Once NTSB gets there, their number one job is to clear out all non-essential people and order law enforce to put a boundary around the scene in ensure they guard the perimeter and keep non-essential people out. Then they start placing the different colored flags to indicate either human remains and other identifiable priority parts etc. The fact that there are no flags is what tells me NTSB isn't there yet. I saw one video, forget which accident, but believe it was on final also and crashed within feet of the runway. This huge front page foto showed the site and I could actually clearly see dead passengers, around 3 very clearly in the picture, so clear that without a doubt, their loved ones would definitely be able to make out who they were! That's like extremely disrespectful. And again people with regular clothes walking all around, walking around bodies. Wow! 😢 These days, first responders, unless it's a uniformed rescue person looking for survivors, it immediately gets ropped off and even cops staying outside the perimeter, securing the integrity of the scene until NTSB arrives. But damn, fricking newspaper editors had no shame printing those pictures on the front page and if I were a kid and easily recognized one of those dead as my dad or uncle, I'd be traumatized for life! Even their mothers or spouses!
