Exposure has more bass weight, greater tonal balance, vocals are more neutral and less bright, and more overall finer detail is fleshed out.

Both are good. But it depends in combination with the speakers. The Cyrus is less dynamic power but better at defining instruments.

hI i think that the Exposure could be the better design Its achille s heel being the 200VA only mains transformer i have two monos same power with a 300VA transformer .... each Put a 400VA big onion inside and the amp will take off Maybe with some more uF in the power supply they save always on most important parts Unfortunately

I have never understood why the Nait 1 goes for about 3 times the amount as a Nait 3. It is a good amp, but it is not THAT good, in my opinion of course.

For my ears, preferred the Naim, without question.

How did you hook up the amp from behind with the RCA bridges? From PRE AMP to NORMAL IN or LAB IN. LAB IN gives cleaner sound, since NORMAL IN is made for turntables and has build in Hi and Low-pass filters. Also, turn off soft clipping if you are not.

Don't know what I was on when I made my original comment below! The Naim NAIT 1 clearly has the most engaging presentation! 🙂 Yes the sound is less 'spacious', more mid-centric and the bass on the Exposure is more distinct and tuneful. However, the NAIT is the only one that makes me want to get up and dance and sing along! For me the Sugden is the most 'musical' and enjoyable with this song, followed by the Exposure. The Sugden sound has more weight - the bass guitar's role in the tune could be heard and appreciated more clearly while the snare drum had more impact and less 'slashiness'. I have a Naim Nait 1 so I am familiar with its 'hard', up-front presentation, which can seem more detailed, but to my ears just sounds a bit brash and lacking subtlety.

The sugden sounds dull slow mushy soft and shut in. The exposure wasn't much better but better it was. The naim was best by far with the most engaging and open musical sound brimming with life and energy. Also it seems to have the most powerful sound of the 3

I have both and the naim wins for me though the cyrus is excellent at the price. I even prefer the nait to the cyrus 2 but of course not every body would agree with that. We were spoiled back then with so many great amps to choose from. Arcam Linn musical fidelity audiolab 8000A etc were all fantastic.
