this is so helpful! im planning to move from sf to nyc and the apt hunting is not fun at all lol planning to sublease then rent around october instead. love the pro and cons of neighborhood! keep up the good work!
Just left New York a year and a half ago. Was living in a one bedroom paying 1950 in a doorman elevator building at 101st and Broadway at the top of the upper west. Was a phenomenal deal. The agent paid for the broker fee. I got so extremely lucky with that place.

January! And yes, prices were a couple hundred $$ cheaper

You cannot find an individual apartment in Manhattan for $2k without roommate. Maybe in 2014 but not 2024.

So, is the rent being split equally between the three of you? I mean you have your own bathroom, another roommate has the largest bedroom with walk in closets, and the last roommate has the smallest bedroom.
we split very unequally! it worked out bc the three of us had very different budgets :)
