My name is Karen and I live in Northern NSW, Australia, I am a 41yo mom to 2 wee wildling daughters and I ride and maintain 3 Ducatis. A 2009 696 Monster I call "Beastie", a 2015 Dark Stealth Diavel called "Lucifer" and a 1995 Supersport 400 called "Junior".
I am learning and doing my own mechanical work in my workshop "The Ducati Den".
My 2 young daughters at ages 7 and 4 are learning to ride their Yamaha TTR50 and PW50.
Follow me for tips on basic mechanics in layman terms, vids of my rides out on the Ducatis and much more to come. All motorcycle related!

Trip to MotoGP 2023 Day 2
Follow me as I trek down from Glen Innes NSW to Phillip Island to be a Marshall at the MotoGP 2023. Riding a 2009 Ducati Moster 696 that will clock over 100,000km on this trip!
Day 2 - Bathurst to Tumut.
What a 2nd day! To start off we took to Mount Panorama on the bikes.... then for shits and giggles did it again but in reserve direction! Amazing 💕 As the Bathurst Race was only last weekend it was in pristine condition with crews tearing down displays and stands on the side of the finish straight.
Topped up the bikes and off we went towards the next destination of Tumut. It was a comfortable enough 15 degrees with a few clouds when we hit the first set of twisties.
The Beastie was growling along like she was a young kitten and not the old cougar she actually is (nearly at 100,000km!). The Ninja of course was prowling along nicely and with some beautiful views, we made our way towards Boorwa.
Dark skies loomed which called for a quick stop to put rain covers on things. No sooner had we left and it was showering on us on and off. Skies cleared, suns out and we dried off and more breathtaking views.
Rolling into Boorwa we had some very meancing looking clouds and in no time we in a deluge of rain and wind. Took shelter at a service station with a Triumph rider (who is going to GP too) and after topping up with fuel, with the rain trying to top off the tanks too we rode off.
Nekmit rain, wind, almost hail, did I say wind..... i swear the wind tried to pick me and the beast up and body slam us into the paddocks!! Did not reach above 10 degrees with the hard rain it was hunker and hold on 😬
Then.... my arch nemesis loomed ahead... dirt road 🤦♀️😬 wet slippery loose dirt.... But what would of pulled me up before Dan, the beast and I tip toed behind the Ninja, a few slips and slides but rolled on at a decent speed and handled it well!! Along with a rooster tail of mud spray now on the gear 🤦♀️
Got to Gundagai and youd never know Australia is in the grasp of another drought. Green fields as far as you can see, fat happy cows sleeping, wild Lucerne on the road sides. Saw the dog on the tucker box and then flew.... I mean rode (did I say it was windy yet?) In tumut to our waiting hosts that kindly cleared a shed spot for the bikes.
Time to dry off, have a drink and watch the incredible storm rolling in over the mountains towards us 💜

696 Ducati Monster 2009, rear brake bleed with change of fluid line

Im doing a course that requires some basics to be videoed so thought Id upload it here anyway in case someone out there wants to know how to on a basic job. Here Im changing my rear reservior brake hose so need to do a rear system bleed. Very simple, and principle applies to front hydraulics as well :-)

Under the lockdown rules we can ride within our LGA and with another person in your household. So lucky me has the Jackadgery range in the Glen Innes LGA. A Sunday ride was just what the Dr ordered during these stressful times 💜💜
Termi exhaust system exchange on a Ducati Diavel 2015

2015 Ducati Diavel stock exhaust system swapped out for a Termi Carbon black system. This was not Upmapped as it will go to get dyno tuned shortly. I just did the work of changing the exhaust and installing new Sprint Airfilter. Was a few hiccups but a successful install.

Changing a Clutch lever on a Ducati Diavel 2015

We've all had that moment of a dropped or knocked over bike and broken lever. I had an oopps and need to change mine. so heres a video on how to change one on a Ducati Diavel. not as straight forward as most bikes! Never done one before so was a bit of a fiddle. Hope it helps anyone looking to try and skip the mechanic and do it themselves.

well this one gave me curry!! A sheared off bolt, a chain that wouldnt break and a few oppies moments to learn from!! But successfully done and few pics at end of my completed job on the exhaust system

If you need to get under the tank of a Ducati Monster there is a few steps. Try to do it before you fill up! This Vid shows how to remove the tank the quickest way, which I needed to do to get to my exhaust but if you want to get to the battery you need to follow these steps as well. I recommend once you have done this once, have the right sized Allen keys x 2 in your tool bag under your seat!!...

Thank You for the reply from 62yo ex moto crosser. I'm new to the Ducati Monster. Way different, more expensive, Dealers = far away than for the single cylinder dirt bikes i used to race. I adjust my chain to specs yet when i rotate back wheel chain tightens and loosens ? Keep up the good work !

Your cool from 61 yrswm in MD USA. I just got a 796abs 1st bike I’ve owned in over 35 years. I used to race in the 70’s & 80’s but don’t know too much about the Ducati glad I found your chanel

Haha it was staged for another "spoof" video I was doing at the same time, thus the over the top makeup as well. In my channel is a couple vids labelled "sexy bike maintenance tips". It was a send up, bit of fun lol

Does the ducati diavel clutch cover fits on monster 696?
I do not believe so, but I could be wrong on that one. Never looked into it.

Hi Jimmy, these are the same fitment from 2010 to 2018 diavel 1200, 2019 to 2020 diavel 1260s :-)
Hi - I bought the QuadLock, no matter where I put it, it hits the tank/won’t lock to lock the steering. I spoke to QuadLock direct, and they offered a refund as they confirmed the mount isn’t suitable for the 696. What do you think?

@@ducatigirl4825 hmmm 🤔 I wonder if we have the same mount then? The actual clamp around the bar, when I lock the steering to the left, it hits the tank 100%. I’m in NNSW too btw :)

Not the original set up, only at the calipers. I have since change my front masters to Ducati Performance racing set with Pramac reseviors so now i do have a master cylinder bleeder

what is the middle lift tool you used? It's blue. I think I'm going to need one of those.
Its a bike jack that I got with my bike lift, been a very handy device, especially for front end work or dropping engines. Got mine from HAPP but you can get them from a few places

I'm buying a 796 likely tomorrow, and yeh, this mod is a must have. I've gotta do this. The bike I'm getting pretty much has everything else you could want, just a clear clutch cover I think will finish the look nicely.

Thanks for your video, I'm your fan. but I think you forgot to tighten one of the 6 center plate bolts with the torque wrench to 7 N.m.
Thank you for uploading this process! I had a slow speed crash from clutch issues and the clutch cover got punctured. I had to order a new one, and had no idea how to replace the cover. Although it's not the clear one like you did, I expect the attachment process to be similar
