Paddling out on lake Mayfield starting from the Ike Kinswa State park swimming area and ending near the Boat Ramp. I give some thoughts about the kayak I'm using during the paddle. There is a break in the weather and the lake is beautiful. I'm using a cell phone so the sound quality isn't the best.

Ike Kinswa State park swim area to the point at the southern end of the camping area. A distance of approximately one mile. No music.

Waterfall draining into a crystal clear pool. During the summer the pool is a great place to swim. Just getting close to it in the winter and during the spring run off is extremely dangerous.

Pushing my kayak into the wind, breaking through oncoming waves. The waves don't look like much but they hit hard enough to send water splashing up. No music. a lot of wind sound.

As a fishing boat approaches the person on the paddle board sits down. The reason is soon apparent to me as they pass. Even though they slowed, they hadn't slowed soon enough and it made for a mildly annoying wake. Paying attention to boat wakes is something I learned about a long time ago. The best strategy is to turn into the wave as it approaches. Not paying attention can put us in a dangero...

Cabin yacht comes into dock, nearly misses the dock. A small flotilla of mini sailboats go by. No music.

Pedaling out on the lake. Ike Kinswa State Park is popular among kayak enthusiast and is ideal for beginner and intermediate, or an expert who just wants a quiet day. For the beginners there is a large area barricaded from power boats just off the swim area. No music.

Slow paddle through a picturesque canyon. No music. Mayfield Lake, Cinnabar Creek. Ask a local where this is at, and maybe they will tell you.
