Btw this is a German Longhaired Pointer, aka Deutscher Langhaar or German Spaniel. There is another dog called the German spaniel, but that other one is a Deutscher Wachtelhund.

Saw one in the park today, I think it was a miniature, red, so adorable

when dogs that are top of the standard look like a puppy compared to most others being shown because they're so much bigger, you know there is an issue.

Shame that most judging isn't to the standard. Most of the dogs being shown are too big, too flat back and lacking muscle.

Just watched again. Our last Spinone passed away last October. Big floppy gentle giants. My heart is breaking 😭

Pretty example here of the breed. This is at a Crufts show where imo they are more correct then the whippets in the US I have found them not as curvy they are heavier and bigger.

We've had Max for just over a year now, he's 11yrs old , rather unsure of his history however he's steadily acclimatised to our home and now has us trained to his requirements. The ears are large and both show the "thumb marks" that are indicative of the breed, is he stubborn? Yes, can he be grumpy? Yes, is he a bit of a delinquent? Undoubtedly, do we love him? With all our hearts and wouldn't be without him. He's not generally a cuddly dog unless he wants a cuddle. Dont be put off by what I've written, if you can get a pup and get it socialised then you're onto a winner who will have you in stitches. Good luck.
