มุมมอง 3.3M5 ปีที่แล้ว
Fearless Crews work above the clouds to remove and replace a television transmitting antenna in Florida. We put you on top of a 1500 foot broadcast tower for a breathtaking perspective on one of the riskiest jobs in the world.
WHY DID THE ANTENNA NEED TO BE ROTATED? Was it mis-installed; pointed in th wrong direction? Enquiring minds and all that stuff.
BALLS OF STEEL COULD TURN TO GOLD AT THAT HEIGHT
some confidence, these guys. Something between engineering, mountain climbing landing on the moon.
I guess the "ginpole" must not lift the antenna completely clear of the pad or it will start swinging. Not a good situation. So the winch guy is really earning his keep to keep things precise. That was a beautifully performed and precise job.👍🏻🇬🇧
Hi guys, that pointed lever for aligning bolt holes is called "a podger", a very old English term, used industrially everywhere.
I want to know where these workers find pants big enough to fit their huge kahunas.
All I can say is if I had to do it, it would still be awaiting these guys are awesome
The relief I felt when they finally got a couple of bolts back in.
God bless these men!!!!!
These jobs are not rare, they happen daily somewhere in the world but the important thing is that there are rarely accidents because these people are professionals, not only preserving their own lives but in the quality work that they do.
Insane NOPE. Respect to the guys who do this, I wouldn't, couldn't. I'm staying out of the air and sea, it's only dry land for me!
how does this channel have 3.2mil views and only 7.7k subs?
You guys are incredible!!
These guys definitely have my respect!! They are fearless and awesome!! I would never be able to do that job!!!
8:29 that burp lol
Poor man could rig with tirfors back to ginpole. Pop up a spreader bar above everything from the ginpole, det load lines clear of the radome.
Poor man could rig with tirfors back to ginpole.
Rig the weight CW onto the main line and CCW onto aux line the winchman controls the azimuth.
The man rideing basket they travel in is know by broadcast riggers in the UK as the "Liberachi"
Preparação de um atleta olímpico 🎉
Everybody talks about the workers and rightly so but don’t forget the pilots there lives depend on the skill of the pilots
similar vid on adding an antenna on the Sears tower.
We had a lot of fun climbing towers. It was a very cool job for 5 years. Than I got older and my knees went bad and a bit shaky. Loved the job we got to travel everywhere. We painted also with paint gloves on way down red and white on a few towers🗼. Never did a new install though. Replaced 🚨 lights and antennas mostly and did tower adjustments on ground also. Learned a lot from that job.
To all the "strong independent women" out there, that "don't need no man"... AFTER YOU!
Nice work! Skilled 💯
Anyone know why they had to rotate it?
Holy crap, that was damn near worst case scenario. Guy was lucky he moved to the other side of the antenna before the bar came off, it looks kinda heavy and I'd imagine there would have been a decent injury if he had gotten hit by it coming down. That's a pretty big fuck up, luckily it worked out in the end. I've never been on one of those elevators that carry guys up the tower but I've heard they're pretty sketchy to ride. I guess they make sense though, you would spend half your work day just climbing up 1500' and if someone gets hurt, it's a long climb down. That whole heli lift would be intense to be on the install crew, you gotta have a good pilot to hold it steady long enough to get it bolted on decently. Cool video though, too bad it seems like the channel only has a couple.
This is a great video man! Did you have the camera on the ground sitting in a bees nest? Certain times in the footage it looks like there's bees flying around it.
Самое интересное началось под конец ролика😂💪
How is the Gin Pole actually attached to the tower and how do you position it? Always wondered that. There are towers near where I live and I see crews maintaining them every once in awhile but I don't want to go up to them while they're working for obvious safety reasons. Thanks.
When you guys are doing working up there do you -do you wear depends ?I salute you guys .!!!!!

8:06 thats Spiderman protecting those massive balls.
Theres mad and then theres crazy, these blokes are off the charts. There was a time before I was 15 I would do this, now no way.
My girlfriend does this for a living and makes over $51hr
No way would I do that for $35. An hour
I don't understand how you can move around with such big Balls. WOW, Dam!
You guys are NUTZ.... This should be in VR
I got vertigo just watching this! Incredible work. I really appreciate people who put themselves at significant risk for the benefit of others. Many thanks. Richard
These guys crazy?
Only men could do this kind of work no females could ever do this !
ONLY 1 mistake death cheated again. good job tower hands.
Why was that one guy standing up on the edge of the basket that seems pretty dangerous a genuine question does he have to??
Man I will have freaked out when that assembly let go and was just hanging by the chokers
See what u can accomplish smoking crack and going to work.
Imagine if a typical florida nadty rain event came from no where?
Guarantee they are WAY UNDERPAID. I was Airborne in the Army, and I would not touch this gig period. These guys are a breed apart.
I wouldn't go up without a base jumping chute. That winch seems iffy at best.
