As a big tekken fan king will always be my favorite character ever it’s hilarious seeing these new streamers play tekken 8 and hate on king 😂

King gets WAY too much reward on hit for b+3:1+2 and cH ffn2. Both require zero execution, are big damage and low risk. King players are carried by these moves so hard they don't even learn defense. The garbage defense of the average King player below Emperor rank is the key to beating them; basic frame traps, knowledge checks, and throws.

You should ideally stop doing that powercrush into chainsaw move at round start, since it's punishable (-12 I think?). When you get out of low ranks people will always punish it, or KBD and launch you for doing it. GGs man.

It's his reach and armour for me. Half screen lows into mix-up with great oki. The throws aren't the problem.

It’s when I hit tekken king I started plugging. The matches got more annoying. I was labbing like crazy and hardly making progress. I was constantly fighting the same ten characters. Only to be stomped by that one random guy who brought Leo and Zafina or Leroy to the match. I can list a lot of excuses for myself. But at the end of the day, I got annoyed and bored with the state of the game after 1000 hours of sweaty fights. I should’ve quit while I was ahead. But I hold out hope that I will enjoy playing the game again after a long break. A really long one…

They should turn down the heat's damage imo bc imagine you want to do a comeback and one heat can delete your remaining 50 health along with your entire rage bar, that's like a quarter of your health with a push of a single button. I hope the upcoming systemic changes will fix this

The other day I was getting pieced up by a Lee who was hitting me with a quick launcher followed by wall to wall combos and with no real way out of them I thought to myself, “these juggle combos aren’t that different from a grapple combo.”

Hard to be in a healthy state where very top level tournament is riddled with 1 button rage arts and 1 button heat smashes. The floor and ceiling are so close together because they made everything brain-dead easy

Too many moves swap you around the map, I feel like I flip sides 30 times in 1 match

It's always healthy. Tekken players always complain every time a new Tekken is released and compares it to the last version. I remember people are complaining about Tekken 7 and compares it TT2 but then when TT2 was release they complained and compare it with T6 lol. Even with T5 this case is true

Its been under year this game is out and so far its already better than 7, problem is tekken fans always do this, they hate the first half of the game then love the 2nd half. They did the same for tekken 7 and compared it to tekken 6. It took 2 years for tekken 7 to get rid of stuff like death combos from 1 launcher. Tekken 8 doesn't even have death combos on day 1 of release. While tekken 7 after 2 years it was then finally released to the public worldwide after years of balance updates. Funny enough, Even now theres still characters like marduk, geece, akuma etc running around with death combos and insane damage without wall combos.

No, its not in a health position. Moves arent always consistent. Moves varies such as connecting or armor break each round. Spamming moves, getting up in with back turnt glitches and combo drops while in a corner for certain stages. Comeback mechanics is annoying, excessive juggles just to use stage envorinment, and repetative character usage (jin, Yoshimitsu & every female character).

Is it me or is it the majority of the cast makes it feel like a 2D game all the mishimas makes it feel 3D but most of the cast makes it feel 2D

Personally, I never really hated king. He looks cool. For some reason I grew hate for characters like Law. Just because of their fookin voice, every time I hear Law screaming it reminds of Liu Kang spaming my ass with fire balls. The screaming just feels so.....forced, it doesn't even sound cool to me.

Honestly compared to half of the cast I'd say king is more honest with his strings. We can't do chip damage across the stage like Victor, we don't have the pressure of reina or Lidia, and we have a much small sidestep compared to anyone but the bears. The chain grabs have been around for a long time since tekken 2 (back when one kings bridge was a death combo) so I'm just surprised that by 8 with its easier throw breaks he's all of the sudden an issue. Maybe it's the influx of new players vs legacy players as legacy players like me already got a feel for him. With the current frame data I'm much more nervous to face a dragunov, yoshimitsu, or Lili (besides best side step in the game next to Alisa some of her strings actually duck all mids)

T8 king is just stupid, this character never got the amount of hate he got in this game and it's because of all those running mixups they gave him, it's definitely not about not being able to break grabs cause the grab in that mixup is unbreakable.

Honestly some of his moves have been there since the beginning. I still dont understand why so much king hate when online play has been around since....5? I dont even play king but at least i know if he gets his hands on you, unless you know what youre doing youre gonna get slammed. Cant tell you what it sounds like but just definitely know, it sounds like it.

Why would casuals even play ranked? Player match is the casual mode.

I only hate his muscle armor . This should count as a move so you can ch launch him with a low out of it

King has been consistently good since like T7 and honestly the fact that armor King wasn't nearly as good as him and was harder says a lot about how easy King is these days the man is gifted as hell people want to talk about fahkumram but no one wants to talk about King cuz that guy never gets nerfed

Because everytime I rank up or go on a streak, king ruins everything. There's a difference between training for the grab and dealing with it in a match.

King isn’t that cheap.. it’s the king play that has to deal mashy spammy bs.. the think about king is he can be very technical, but he also can go bunga a little bit.. so players like myself determine how skilled the player is.. if the play is skilled they don’t mind the King match to much.. but if victor and Alissa is on the scene I’m more than happy to be a bunga jerk because those players just by looking at the screen obviously don’t care who the spam.. so you get what you ask for.. I know how this work I’ve been playing 20 + years

Offline king is not that hard to deal with. King is really annoying because of online lag. It just becomes way harder to counter him.

As a King main, I actually enjoy King mirror matches. I try to learn new strats playing others, watching streamers or youtube videos.

They gotta do something about his Damage in season 2.

Fun Fact: Out of all overpowered characters Nina is by far the hardest to pilot . Even the devs know this , they wrote that down in 1.08 patch notes where she got damage nerfs

As a king main enjoyer since 2018, that video was funny to watch Even if it doesn't give the best solutions to fight king, it can help beginners So i will give my advices to fight king : Grab king guys : the legend is true... King mains don't break throws, if you ad that with the fact they spam power crush, they'll just eat all your throws Side step right : lots of his poking moves has poor tracking to king's left, and his ffn2 low has no tracking at all Practice you throw breaks smartly : if a king is running at you and grab you, it's 1+2 If a king is back at the wall and grab you, 99% it's a giant swing (1break) If there's a floor break, either it's 2 or 1+2 depending on the arm animation When a king goes sprint mixup : DON'T GUESS !!! try to NEVER DUCK and only duck react to the slow animation of the RKO Learn the most dangerous chain grabs ! death craddle is in order : 1 then 1+2 then 2 break King's bridge is 2 then 1+2 break

Honestly i enjoy tekken 8 more than 7, tekken was a defensive 50/50 back dash game. It felt punishing to engage in a fighting game which sounds bizzare but it's true. Tekken 8 feels more engaging. Can't stand toxic characters like akuma, geece etc all having death combos.

Now make one for underpowered characters
