Exactly what i was looking for
Great tutorial & well explained. Just got the H145 and action pack but to be honest its a struggle. I'm ok at taking off & flying but coming in to land at a certain point takes an absolute age to get it anywhere near a landing zone. You make it look easy.
Many Thanks for your support, it was really exceptional video
This is a 45 min video but bro is talking at 3.75x speed so it is 4 hours of content condensed in 45 mins, 10/10 would watch again
I cant even figure out how to turn the screens on
Wow this video is fantastic. I bet you didn't even scratch the surface of how much is going on too get a helicopter airbounre and flying
I've been looking for a video that explained the basics of flying the H145 since I got it. Too many tutorial videos already assume we all know this... Thanks a lot for this one! I don't know why it's not higher up in the search, so hopefully a like and a comment will help with that!
Zoom in dude come onnn
Thank you for your amazing videos. Unfortunately, I am either a horrible pilot, or something is off with the joystick/software. No helicopter will fly long without spinning out of control. At this point I am will to pay for lessons if anybody reads this!!!
Keeping the helicopter in AEO below the blue line means in case of one sudden engine failure the maximum power that will be available at the OEl 30 second limit. Great video(s) 👍👍👍
Great video my question is there a lot of TH-cam videos out there on the H145 And H160, I want to do a ILS approach flight planned and landing. Could you please do a video on that? or explain it to me? I know on a regular airplane you have to hit the approach button and it will automatically follow the glideslope and lower the altitude for you all the way to the runway. What about the helicopter the 145 and the 160. is that procedure the same? I tried to do a ILS approach with the H160 and thought it would automatically pick up the glides slope and drop the altitude to the runway or Heli pad. But that wasn’t the case. Can you try to explain the steps for landing the helicopter on the approach? Is that even possible?
Give me some time to run it and then I'll post. There are some quirks with it and I want to make sure I'm giving you good info
@@Shipmeck thanks I really appreciate it
I just started to heli logging in Seymour and Revelstoke... it's a ton of fun, but also pretty challenging. Nice flying...
what plane was this? sorry i watched on mute
Same question. Looks pretty awesome
I just used the Extra 330LT that comes with MSFS. Yeah, I didn't realize how terrible the sound was until I watched it. I'll probably delete and and I'm making a cinematic version where I fly a quarter of the course upside down in one of them (till the screen starts going red hahaha).
And buy a decent acrobatic plane.
How can i map de search light for moving it with a hotas axis?
😂😅👍

What an amazing video! do you know the Differences between the 2E and the 2D engines that are on the H125 and H130?
Yes. Very subtle. It's mainly the mounting of the two engines. The 2D is is a single forward mount to be used in a single engine configuration vs the 2E having a dual forward mount. There are some very minor accessory differences as well but when I went to the Safran Level 2 school for 2E, I actually disassembled/reassembled a 2D instead of a 2E because they are so similar.
Thanks! It’s a great engine. I really enjoy flying it on the h125 and H130. Easy to use and forgiving.
Im almost made it to runway too, happily gliding down G/S until minimum but changing to GTC mode and it fly up like rocket. need A/P A/T disconnect Tuto

how did you use the garmin just avoe the auto pilots? I have this heli they are off for me.
Are you starting with engines running or cold and dark and starting up?
@@Shipmeck I've tired both.
I would recommend jumping on the HPG Discord. There's a bunch of people a lot smarter than me about how the simulator works. The only thing I can recommend is to make sure the Avio Master switches are on in the overhead panel, but it honestly sounds like an installation issue.
Same here. I've got thousands of hours on the real H145 and I've just learned a lot! Great work!
Hard to understand but thank you
How can I set up a key binding to release the water in the bambi bucket onto my joystick?
I'm pretty sure it's toggle yaw damper
Thanks for all the videos dedicated to H145, I've learnt a lot. I'm having troubles trying to control the heli. It looks like there is no difference between Trim release being pressed or not. I have realistic model in config, no assistance whatsoever in the sim and all required bindings. I see Trim release indication (when pressed) and AFCS indication as well. But without Trim release pressed I'm not feeling that I'm "fighting" the autopilot. The aircraft won't trying to "get back" to set attitude after cyclic release without Trim release pressed. Looks like I'm missing some option somewhere which is driving me crazy :) Any suggestion where to start?
Best thing to do is drop a video of the issue in the discord chat. It's almost solved immediately
good fly thoroughly enjoyed that until... oops, oh well it happens😃😃😃
Excelente
What? no Long Line for Heli Logging? 😕 Hopefully FS2024 will bring improvements on that
I guess that depends on your definition of long... haha. Yeah it is a pretty short line at 15 ft
i found 494 buggy it wouldn't fly right back too 491
The cyclic controls are MUCH better. The pedals are still kicking my butt. Found a few bugs here and there but the cyclic stability is well worth it.
Do you mind showing us your sensitivity settings for your joystick?
Hello pls contact me.
Thanks for that quick reply. And in case of a Cat A takeoff (which I also have seen described as a PC1 takeoff, perhaps that is a European thing....?) imagine lift off into the wind but your destination lies behind you. Would it be appropriate to stop gaining altitude and rotate towards your destination or continue gaining altitude while you rotate?
Forward into the wind until you reach Vtoss then turn on course. The idea is to get it above single engine speed so that if you loose an engine you can fly away. If you turn away from the wind you are creating a dangerous situation where if you loose an engine you have a tail wind and have to accelerate to match the wind and then on to single engine speed to fly away
This is very usefull, thank you Shipmeck! I have many questions still: can you for instance while taking off make a turn whilst still below Vtoss? And if so, would you use the torque pedals for that turn and the cyclic or a regular coordinated turn? Or is turning below Vtoss not advisible? By the way, Vtoss equals Vx? Is that correct?
The C2 manual stated to "avoid steep right turns below 45 kias close to the ground to maintain sufficient lateral control margin for recovery". This flight characteristic warning is not present in the D2 manual which is curious since they have the same main rotor system. So it would seem that turns are allowable below VTOSS so pedals should be used to maintain aircraft in trim. VTOSS = Vx for this aircraft. I'm not sure if that's always the case or if it is just something airbus has chosen to define.
Great video! Very objective, clear and didatic!
Do u use deadZONE? Ignore? Motiion rate?
I use dead zones and absolute minimum setting
@@Shipmeck but we are told to use deadozone at 100% so we use the button for trim and so no imput makes any change. Im using a virpil with no spring
@@josemalbran2815 I have springs, I'm not sure about np spring Virgil, but 100% dead zone seems it would never recognize inputs?
@@Shipmeck exactly but it will when you press the trim button, isent that how it is in the aircraft, u cant give manual imputs unless u press the trim button?
@josemalbran2815 you can give manual input however the stick will return to the position it was in before you started the input, automatic trim will be suspended when the stick is deflected from the spring Center however stability augmentation will still be active
This was very educational. You know a lot about it and that has made me want to fly the H145 again. Many thanks. And... keep it up!
Great video. Just bought the H145 a couple of days ago, having almost not flown the ASOBO default helicopters at all. So I’m really new to helicopters in MSFS and I really enjoy learning something new. Do the H145 pilots fly this thing with assist or no assist? I started flying it without the assist/ autopilot. Very difficult but it’s getting better. Keep up the good work
Always with assist. Real pilots have very little interest in proving their superior airmanship skills at the expense of their life
Great tutorial. Learning so much. Tank you.
Thanks for all your efforts mate
Thanks for the video! Since the latest release, my pitch bounces up and down very easily. Any advice on how to reduce this bouncing? Regards!
I'd have to watch you do it to try to figure out what is going on
well done. Sir. Unfortunately the H160 does not know how to fly an RNAV LNAV+VNAV either. Not the offical version 48 , not the much applauded revisiòn 78 . You still have to "dive" into the FAF "like no ones bussisnes" wich is nonsense if the RNAV is more complex and winding road to stay away from obstacles..... pointed out months ago.... The GS is supposed to pull you down ..... at that 2500 ft crossing....and signal it from far, far away from it ( dot at the top wich you awaited too )
too bad mouse dosent work ove the presentation
I realized this well after and I'll have to do another one. Probably break it up into multiple videos too
i recomend attaching a file for the slides as they are very small., any way great vid and thanks. I also found many check lists online, do u recomend the hype one chould me customize it?
@@josemalbran2815 I recommend the hype checklist because it is specific to the simulation. Which is not 100% the same as real life
sound is messed up
Hi @Shipmeck. Great video. Seems there is no clutch on H145 between engines and rotors. Does it mean that when the second engine is started, the power turbine is already spinning ?
There is a sprag clutch in the transmission, that disengages when the transmission spins faster than the input shaft. When the 2nd engine is started and the power turbine reaches the speed of the transmission, the sprag clutch starts to engage and providing torque.
@@Shipmeck cristal clear, thanks. You may answer another question: what is the circular tube in the middle of the tail. If I'm not wrong, it's an antenna but I failed to find a clear explanation. It looks more like a pipe (for hydrolic pump) or something.
@yamatubeable are ypu talking about the u-shaped pipesbl, parallel to the ground opposite each other? ILS antennas.
I fly the H145 and this is an amazing video to understand the AFCS of this helicopter. Excellent job!
thank you for this video. Have 0 idea from when start to fly helis, this video help me to learn the bindings
Glad I could help!
Congratulations. Very nice.
Good work
Do you have any design document
No. Just maintenance docs
Great work..
